I'm curious what the best place to buy and sell tuner cards, video cards, or other HTPC stuff? I've tried the local Craigslist with poor results. Ebay is the typical default, but for some reason I'm not crazy about using Ebay.
Are there any good marketplace forums specifically aimed at this sort of thing? I know there's one on the AVS forums, but you have to be a club member ($35!) in order to post there.
dejuni: Updated search options on programme detail display and Guide listings for IMDB, Netflix and TV.com.
Search URL generation logic has been refined.
Search links are no longer generated for "paid Programming" programmes.
Searches now default to a Google "Feeling Lucky" search against target site (IMDB, NetFlix, Tv.Com).
Standard search against site (IMDB, NetFlix) is also available via the "*" link next to the target site.
unclejohnsband: Correct Publish Date issue in RSS feeds introduced with new RSS.Net Library.
unclejohnsband: Updated Library logic to correctly set the Video profile for streaming.
This fixed a bug that was defaulting the Video tab to use the Audio Stream settings when the Music Library tab was selected before accessing the Video Library.
wake: Added new theme Sassari based on skin created by dottore.
Very nice theme.
Themes are easily changed via the Theme drop down on the Config tab.
unclejohnsband: Updated the list of themes in the Config tab to be sorted.
cincyreds-unclejohnsband-: Beta release of total CSS based Guide. This was started a while back by cincyreds and me. Moving to CSS based rather than table based should make theme design easier for others since you can totally change the appearance via CSS changes rather than having to change the page and codebase. Unfortunately, after about 70% of the work being completed cincyreds went dark. I have not been able to reach him in months. Since I am by no means a designer (as cincyreds is) it is slow-going completing the rest of EWA. If anyone is a good designer with strong CSS knowledge and skills and is interested in working with me to complete this migration please PM me.
Access the CSS based guide by using the page Guide2.aspx rather than Guide.aspx
Being a beta not everything is working as of yet:
Theme colors are for contrast only.....this is not an actual theme color scheme.
Only tab that is currently released in the CSS format is the Guide. All others will default to your selected theme and standard pages.
Search of IMDB, Tv.Com, NetFlix and Wikipedia are not up to date with the search changes on the standard Guide.
The Details pop-up may not have all the same functionality as the standard Details pop-up.
Search from the Details pop-up is not working.

UncleJohnsBand: CSS Changes:
Completed last CSS based screen. There is now a complete CSS based EWA.
To access CSS based screens just go to Admin2.aspx instead of Admin.aspx and select the Theme you would like to use. Current themes include Prototype, Default and Blue.
UncleJohnsBand: CSS General Notes:
CSS Note: CSS screens are coded in strict standards mode. This will make future updates easier and provides the best cross-browser (Firefox / IE) compatability. However, this also means that the CSS sceens will only be fully supported by IE 7 and FireFox. Some screens will not work correctly in IE6. Sorry.
CSS Note: CSS screens are optimized for screens with 1024x768 resolution or higher. Lower resolution will just cause more scrolling on some screens.

Greetings guys and gals! First off, thanks to anyone who has helped me get this program up and running so far! You have been very helpful!
I have a slight problem now. When I open the tv guide, it displays the correct time and date, but the program listings are 3 hours off.
For instance, History channel will show a program @ noon as being "Gangs of the past", but the program is actually "Modern Marvels" that appears 3 hours behind in the guide. Very strange, is this a setting I am missing in gbpvr?
I have zap2it, as I am located in the states zip code 49058. It is setup correctly with my local provider etc. I have triple checked all settings, anyone have any ideas?
First of all thanx for GB-PVR! You did an amazing job and I like GB-PVR best of all the HTPC
software I've ever seen ...
Now to my problem:
After having installed GB-PVR the time to shut down the PC increased by about 15 to 20 seconds.
I found out, that this is due to the GBPVRRecordingService.exe. If I manually stop the service
before shutdown, everything is fine again. Maybe the service does not respond to the shutdown
event it gets from the system before shutdown?
I had this problem with a service I wrote, too. If the system is shut down you get a shut down
event but no stop event, so I just executed the same peace of code in both cases ...
I'm using the GBPVRRecordingService.exe from the v0.99.12 survival guide.
kind regards,
chrisu
PS: At the moment I'm setting
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WaitToKillServiceTimeout
from the default of 20000 milliseconds to a smaller value like 3000.
I have a Sabrent capture card product number SBT-TVFM. Is there a way to have this program to reconize my capture card because it is currenlty not recognizing my card. Any suggestions?
I hesitate to post this in 'support' when it's not really a problem and a new version imminent but.....
I've just noticed on one of my PC clients that there are empty directories on the root of the C: drive named just as they would be on the server (default of C: in config for recording directory). Client is configures as 'streaming'. The logs aren't valid as it was some days ago. Strangely, another, more used, client doesn't seem to have them.
I'm struggling to get my remote working properly. I have a Hauppauge Nova T 500 with the 45 button remote. I've installed everything (winTv) etc and the remote software ir.exe. I clicked the fix 45 button remote thing in GBPVR config and restarted ir. I have removed the ir.exe from the startup and added the GRNPOWER line into irremote.ini but can't get the darned thing to work!
I have fiddled extensively to try and get this working including removing all references to Media Center or MCE in the irremote.ini file. (The base XP is an MCE build...I have disabled the eh* stuff to stop MCE from running) . The GO button used to start Media Center but does nothing right at this moment, the green power button sends my machine to standby and when in GBPVR, most of the buttons don't seem to do anything. Once I select to watch live TV, I can't seem to go back and do anything and am stuck watching TV!
I was having a chat with JavaWiz on the wishlist about my idea for writing a plugin for rating TV Movies with data from IMDB.COM. In order to do this, I believe I will need to pull down the data for the movies in a batch, as doing it live for a search would be prohibitively slow. My question is, where can I store this data? JavaWiz made the comment below, I just wanted to check that this is what people do, or if there are any "neater" ways of doing it.
Thanks for any help/comments!
JavaWiz Wrote:I believe as a rule plugin developers are not to add tables to the GBPVR.db3 database. If you have persistent storage requirements, I believe the best thing to do is create a new db and store your data in it.
