I have a dvd with 2 episodes on it, when I look at it with dvddecrypt it has vts1 and vts2. However, I seem to only be able to rip vts2 off with dvd2mpg. I don't mind running dvd2mpg twice, I figure some command line change to dvddecrypt should do the trick.
I tried changing the command line to dvd2mpg for dvddecrypt from /vts 1 to /vts 2 and then /vts 0 but it seems to pull vts2 each time.
Intervideo IVIVIDEO_TT.ax 6.0.6.152 (default) - and manually set in gbpvr
Cyberlink CLVSD.ax 5.0.0.724
cyberlink says it's not fully supported in the windows xp video decoder thing, and also gbpvr says something about it so i didn't bother trying to get it working if it's not going to be able to record right...
anyway, if i use VMR9 i lose the OSD completely, VMR9 Custom gives me the object linked error, VMR7 gives me the OSD which works fine for 4:3 broadcasts, but 16:9 anamorphic broadcasts cause the OSD to be resized WITH the anamorphic correction so it appears elongated and shifted up (just as if you'd manually resized a 4:3 with OSD to 16:9)
this doesn't really matter i guess, but the +, -, and exit buttons end up in the wrong visual place, but the actual clicking zones remain the same!! so you have to click below the visual buttons to the "imaginary" ones in the usual place that they appear for 4:3 broadcasts...
is there any way i can fix this? it's only really bothering me because my remote doesn't seem to want to work with BDA + gbpvr so i'm having to use mouse and/or keyboard
I have a Nova-T with remote (one of the earlier 909 versions) and am using the Technotrend BDA drivers so i can use gbpvr and after some research, experimentation and generally just messing about, i've managed to get everything just about working except the remote control which doesn't work at all...
Is there some sort of trick to get the Hauppauge remote to work? I tried installing IR32 separately and running that, then stopping it from running and it didn't work either way...
This is a bit of a pain, but is it just a case of if I use the Technotrend BDA drivers with my Nova-T, the remote control stops working because the Technotrend drivers don't have the necessary remote control support???
Hi, Just installed and have managed to install most things correctly even got control over my NTL STB however I seem to missing the OSD - and I have no idea how to debug..any advice? also I ahve enabled the website(turned firewall off etc) but when I go to the webpage http://192.168.1.105:7647/ it says http 404 not found Cassini Web Server 1.0.2379.26393 which would indicate the web server is working but cant find its start page. Any help greatly appreciated.
I have two Hauppauge PVR150MCE cards that are surplus to my needs so I'm offering them for sale to the group. Just the cards, no cables, remotes, etc. Drivers are available from Hauppauge and elsewhere. They're not the low profile version but they do have FM. Both were used in my system until recently (I replaced them with a 500MCE to free up a slot) and work fine. They're arguably the best capture cards to use with GB-PVR.
Asking $55.00 US each, shipped Priority Mail to U.S. address. Or, such a deal...both for $100.00 US, shipped. Or, trade both for a PVR500MCE.
Contact me via PM if interested and we'll work out the details.
I have installed the newest (0.97.13) version of GBPVR and i find that the playback video constantly shakes. It seems as if its resizing itself smaller, bigger, smaller bigger etc.
I had SageTV installed before and it worked fine. This happens for both LiveTV and playback of other downloaded content (which do not exhibit this problem when playing via Media Player).
What's weird is that it's not just the screen, but the menus (channel up/down, pause etc.) as well that are shaking.
Any ideas as to the cause of this problem? I have used all the possible Decoder filters to no avail, and I have afeeling it's not caused by the MPEG-2 decoder because the files from my library that are playing are DIVX/Xvids.
I'm not sure if this is just the screen saver I run (with is part of the Music Library2), but I found yesterday that when I paused live tv and went off and did something else once the screen saver came on it "lost" what was being paused.
I'll try with the simple screen saver to see if sub has put anything in there to remember what was being done before the screen saver was activated.
If it does work with Simple Screen saver, is there anything that can be done in a custom screen saver to remember what was being done?
Still having a few troubles and was wondering if someone could expand a bit on the boot process of the MVP. From what I understand, the DHCP server should hand out the IP and the address of a tftp server, along with the filename to get. My smoothwall isn't setup to do anything beyond a normal IP address, so I'm at a bit of loss as to how it's working at all - unless GBPVR is doing the DHCP thing? What services does GBPVR provide? Just tftp of the image?
If I wanted to run a separate tftp server (solarwinds?) how would I disable the one in gbpvr?
Also thinking of giving mvpmc a go as it now supports H series MVP's (mine is an H3). Any ideas?
Just seen an article in the Oct 2006 issue of Computer Buyer magazine (UK), titled "Alternatives to Windows Media Centre". Along with Myth et all there was GBPVR in all it's glory - deserving a full page write up with screenshots of the TV Guide and Libary plugins!
GBPVR received 4 out of 5 stars and 'best on test' in the conclusion. Said "the most impressive media centre alternative is GBPVR". Mentioned the way it 'just works', how reliable it was and the fact it was, (in their opinion) amazinaly, a free download.
I haven't purchased a Hauppauge MediaMVP yet, but I am leaning more and more towards it. I just want to see any downfalls compared to actually having a computer in the livingroom.
I would mostly like to be able to watch downloaded divx clips and I'd like to be able to put a DVD or load a DVD image and be able to play it. I'll have a 1.2ghz with 256megs of ram PC running winxp pro in the backroom. I keep reading more and more about gbpvr and love the plugins that I'm reading.
I also was considering installing Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 MCE PCI Interface 1042 Tuner Card on my maching that's in the backend. I will mostly record dishnetwork and I do have analog cable, but I don't mind mannually plugging in the cable and skipping the dishnetwork box as it's on a switch.
I just don't want to spend 160 dollars and be dispointed. I'm already using sunrocket's VOIP for the phone and hoping the bandwitch can handle everything. I know I could put it on a seperate network, but then I wouldn't get the EPG or weather.
I'm also looking for an disadvantages I would have compared to having a seperate box by my television running mythtv or MCE. It just seems that the network would kill the bandwidth, since all television needs to be passed through the connection. With a machine next to my television the only using of the internet would be for downloading listing/epg it seems, which is minimal.
Thanks in advance.
