I have a wintv-pvr 500MCE (dual tuner) tv card, how do I config gbpvr to make use of the dual tuner ? say one tuner for live tv another for recording another tv channel simultaneous
I have done hours of research here to try to get my pvr-250 / GBPVR combo to work well, but haven't had much success until just recently, and then it was just a fluke (to me) that something good happened. I like to think of myself as fairly technical and the kind of person that can figure things out on my own, but all of the video codecs, mux files, etc. just has me confused. Hopefully someone can help.
I attached the log files per sub's sticky, so hopefully that helps. Here is the issue - when opening Live TV, a lot of the channels coming thru coax into the PVR-250 have snow, wavy lines and no sound, while a few are clear with sound. After flipping channels for a while just to check which ones were clear and which were not, they all started working with sound and great clarity on my PC LCD and my HDTV hooked up via component to GeForce 6600 with 81.98 drivers. As I messed with it more by exiting in and out of Live TV, I could not come up with a pattern as to what made it finally "work". Flipping through channels 6-12 seemed to bring the quality back fairly consistently, but that is just strange to me. Especially since Channel 6 won't tune through GBPVR but will on my regular TV. After a bit of time with a really good picture, the synch on the sound would get off, also. Pausing Live TV results in the poor picture coming back and it appears that the recorded file has poor image as played back with Nero and Windows Media Player.
Any ideas? I now know that it is possible to get great quality from this setup, but I don't have a clue where to look.
I'm running Dvico's Fusion5 lite perfectly in my GBPVR machine. I'm traveling in Korea now and I can get a 2nd F5 lite for around $55. I'm wondering whether GBPVR supports 2 F5 (both PCI) in the same machine. Does anyone know?
I heard the BeyondTV can handle two F5 simultaneously. But I don't want to jump the ship. I like GBPVR a lot.
I know with my hardware setup I should be able to playback hd shows m that are mpeg or dvr-ms encoded without much problems, I mean the x1600pro should be able to even take most of the work off the cpu, where can I get the appropriate codecs to use so my graphics card can do most of the work, I'm really frustrated about this issue, I dunno much about mpeg/dvr-ms playback codecs and I am wondering if someone knows where to go tofind the codec that will work with this card properly so the cpu stops cranking so much. this card should have enough HP to hardware playback anything short of H264 1080i that codec kills cpu cycles I know. But for everything else I should not have a problem but I do

Hi
I was wondering if there is a way to tell the software to record ALL showing movies on ALL channels (I have multiple tuners)? I want to use my computer as a movie library.
I recently switched from running Comskip after recording (PostProcessing.bat) to during recording (ParallelProcessing.bat), and now it seems to be leaving the logo file behind, which messes up RenameRecording and orphans the recording. I have "delete_logo_file=1" set in Comskip.ini. I have "None" selected on the processing tab in the GBPVR config utility. The only change to the Comskip.ini was adding "live_tv=1". Any ideas what I may have goofed up?
Since this is my first post, I want to say thanks to Erik, Sub, and all of you plug-in and skin authors for writing such excellent software and sharing it with the rest of us.

Just a thought. Have someone thought of using MediaMVP as a tool for e-learning to users who are non-computer illiterate?
It would be interesting for families that have young children. One can create math modules, or english modules, using powerpoint, and export them as jpgs.
But the trick is that for each slide, you need to play a different sound. Can that be done easily?
The normal logic is (used to be) that if I schedule two recordings that are back to back on one channel, then as long as I have two cap. sources that can handle that channel, the first goes to one cap. source and the second to another cap. source...
I scheduled two recordings tonight from the TV Guide (using Record Once etc.). I noticed the first had been cut short by the same time as what should have been the post-padding. The second was the right length. I checked the log and both had been recorded using the same cap. source instead of being shared between two. Obviously why the first was cut short.
Is this a bug with manually scheduling two recordings from the TV Guide on the same channel? I don't think I've noticed this on back to back recordings when they're part of a Season record.
However, when navigating the menus it will frequently:
- reboot
- "Locating servers"
- "Failed to locate GUI server"
- "Locating servers"
- settle down at GB-PVR opening menu
There does not seem to be a predictable pattern to *when* it reboots other than it's when using the remote to move through the menus. This can happen ever few minutes. Once I'm watching a pre-recorded show, there is absolutely no problem.
The logs do not show any error messages--it's as if the server stops listening for the MVP.
