Hi all,
I've used GBPVR in the past and liked it alot. I've only just found out that it supports MVP aswell.
Probably a bit of a dumb query....
I was wondering what features of GBPVR can you access via MVP.
Main thing I want to do is browse and set recordings on the EPG via the MVP using the remote. I'd like to be able to use the PVR functionality without having to sit at the PC. PC will have an as yet undecided tv card with freeview capability.
Users of the MVP should be unaware that the PC is serving the video, pics, etc.
Sorry if this is basic, but I noticed that GB-PVR named one of my shows the correct episode name, and I would like it to name all of the others as well.
I have tried and tried to find an answer to this, but I do not know which part of GBPVR is responsible for the naming, and cannot for the life of me find an option to fiddle with.
I just downloaded GB-PVR and the installation went great. I don't have a TV tuner yet (will be buying that Saturday) but wanted to get started. I dropped some video files I downloaded off the internet (uh, legally of course ) into the video folder. They're AVIs, assuming XVID codec. GB shows them just fine in the videos list, but when I hit enter to play one, it locks up and I have to exit PVR and go back in to do anything. Anyone know whats wrong? The videos play fine in WMP10. I'm running XP SP2.
At one time I had a DirectTV with Tivo. It was a Sony T-60 (Dual Tuner). I LOVED it. One of the great features it had was that it would buffer both tuners at the same time. It would allow you to switch back and forth between the tuners (Down Arrow) while retaining the buffer for each. You could switch from tuner 1 to tuner 2, then rewind. You could almost watch two shows at once...
Is this possible? What would be involved in doing something like this? Big nasty coding? Is this for future development, or not even being considered at this time?
I have problem with ir blaster of mce

The reason I post this here is because my PVR PC is in my basement and I plan on using this mouse in my livingroom above it to wake-up the PC (and the usual mouse control of course). It uses RF signals so it should work fine travelling only a few feet through the floor.
I use a set-top-box to decode the cable signal before it reaches my computer. I use a Hauppauge PVR350 card as my tuner. The card only comes with an IR receiver that is 3 feet long. I need to find an IR receiver that also transmits signals to my set-top-box, preferably about 25 feet long. I used to own an MCE remote, and the IR blaster that came bundled with it came pretty close to what I needed. Is this going to be my best bet? I looked up the USB-UIRT device and that goes for about $50. What's my best bet in terms of getting an IR receiver that can also control my set-top-box with some fairly long cables? And also, will any of the channel changer plugins turn my set-top-box on/off to begin/end recordings?
