Well, my cousin and I finally got the HPC built, and ti works fine for music and radio and pictures, but it has a problem with movies. Now I know I am using a GeForce3 Card ad that video playback would be jerky, but I am having a different problem. Whenever I try to play a movie or DVD, the scrren garbles itself. The only way to fix it is to reboot the PC. I took a picture of it:
Hi Jeff,
I upgraded to the most recent GBPVR revision the other day and now my Music Player does not work in the random mode. It will pick one song and then stop. I had this problem before this revision in early January and you gave me a fix for it at that time.
Do you have another possible fix for me this time?
Is there some way in the API to change the channel programmatically, so that I can do it in a plugin?
The relevant method appears to be IChannelChanger.setChannel(int channel), but I don't know how to get hold of an IChannelChanger instance.
The best thing I can think of is IScheduleHelper.ScheduleRecording() with start time and end time set to right now (or a second into the future), but it seems a bit ugly.
Iâve had trouble converting avi files with aspect ratios other than 4:3 to mpeg for MVP playback. For each file Iâve had to manually figure out what top and bottom padding I need to keep the aspect ratio correct. Thereâs probably an easier way of doing this, but to automate the process Iâve written a wee batch file (below) that first finds the resolution of the source video from ffmpeg and then calculates the top and bottom padding required to maintain the correct aspect ratio while changing to the correct resolution for the MVP (PAL in my case).
This is fine for off-line transcoding, but the only thing I canât figure out is how to integrate it into the real-time MVP transcode feature. And ideas?
Code:
@echo off
set inputfile=%1
set outputfile=%2
set outputxsize=720
set outputysize=576
for /f "eol=; tokens=1,2,3,4,5 delims=:,x" %%a in ('ffmpeg -i %inputfile% 2^>^&1') do (
if "%%b"==" Video" (
set /a inputxsize=%%d
set /a inputysize=%%e
)
)
echo Input video size is %inputxsize% by %inputysize%
set /a newysize=%inputysize%*%outputxsize%/%inputxsize%
echo Resized video is %outputxsize% by %newysize%
set /a padding=(%outputysize%-%newysize%)/2
echo Top and bottom padding needed is %padding%
:: Passing must be a multiple of 2
set /a padding=(%padding%/2)*2
set /a newysize=outputysize-(padding*2)
echo Corrected padding is %padding%
echo Corrected resized height is %newysize%
start "Converting" /low /wait /b ffmpeg -y -i %inputfile% -b 4000 -ac 2 -ab 224 -r 25 -s %outputxsize%x%newysize% -padtop %padding% -padbottom %padding% -f svcd %outputfile%
I need major help here. I've asked the forum over at Girder, but its chaotic over there. It appears this topic is going in all different directions, and because this is basically the only program I wanna control with my remote, I'll ask here.
Is it possible to control GB-PVR with the Sony DVD/Playstation 2 remote control? Here is the remote I have.
Girder seems a little confusing, but if I plug the receiver into the adapter then USB into my computer, it almost seems crazy that there isn't way to use it as my GB-PVR remote.
I have tried and tried to make this PVR work with no success. It is time for me to drop the whole idea I think.
Everything seems to be set up properly only I still get no channels working. I will take a look at it again in the future but I need to let it go for now before I smash it into the ground.
I recently bought a Hauppauge PVR 250BTV card for my system, seems to be working nicely. I was wondering if I could use the remote and receiver that comes with the WinTV Go Plus to control my GBPVR and card? Would I have to get a USB receiver?
I'm expecting some new kit to arrive soon, including a Hauppage nova-t with r/c. I currently have an ATI 550 pro with a cyberlink r/c.
I would like to be able to use the Hauppage r/c with GBPVR as there seems to be more support for it (and also the cyberlink's button layout sucks somewhat).
Wil this work? Can you use a hauppage r/c even tho the video source maybe from the 550?
