Shortly I am buying a new house that will include an audio visual distribution system that includes speakers in teh ceilings etc... However, the philosophy of thr system is that all AV equipment is located in one central location.
My problem is that there is no multiplexing of the remote control IR signals. That is to say that whichever room you are in all devices will receive the IR commands. This is fine when the AV equpiment consists of different devices such as a DVD player, a VCR and a hi-fi. What I want to do is to transpose my current system of a GBPVR server and several MVP clients to my new house, but it seems to me that if all my MVPs will receive commands at the same time they will all respond at the same time.
Is there perhaps a way of changing the IR commands that the MVP responds to?
Just purchased an Emuzed III-G (as it is listed as supported by GBR), and I can't for the life of me find any configuration for it in the set up. Seem's like every card but that one.
I am not making any recommendation here, I have just read reviews and the program seems to be a good one.
Amazon has Perfect Disk 7.0 on sale for $31.99 which qualifies for free shipping. There is also a $20 rebate on it through the end of April so you end up getting it for $11.99 shipped. For less than $12 I will give it a try. It is a mail in rebate so YMMV but I have never had any problems as long as I was careful and kept good records.
I've got my recording directory on my GB-PVR box set up to share and when mounted on my ubuntu box playback of mpg's is so choppy as to be unusable. When I access the same directory from another XP box on the network no playback problems at all.
OK, I have completely rebuilt my PVR system and my ATSC 110 is now recording through the intervideo mux on a fairly consistent basis. The two versions of the cyberlink mux files still do not work, and I don't want to mess around too much more.
I've noticed that the recorded files are much larger than those produced by my pvr-250. One hour from the PVR-250 is about 1.8 GB at medium level recording, whereas the ATSC-110 runs a little over 5 GB for the hour. I don't think that setting the recording level has any affect on the final file size. I thought the .dvr-ms files were marginally larger, but not 2.5 times larger.
Are these file sizes typical? Would a different mux produce smaller files? I understand that the demuxing simply removes the dvr-ms container, so I would expect the mpg file to be slightly smaller than the dvr-ms version. Could it be saving more than one stream?
I'm thinking about flipping back to gb-pvr after another bout with Myth. I don't believe QAM on the Fusion 5 Lite is currently supported natively within gb-pvr, but I'm wondering if I could apporoximate it with a plug-in (External Record) and the dvico supplied software. Anyone know?
I think a resume option would be a nice feature for the shows that have been recorded. Sometimes I can only get through half of the show, then I came backlatter to watch the rest I have to skip to where I left off. It would be nice to hit resume and I am back watching where I left off. If it can be done that would be great. Thanks
I'm looking for some clarification on this issue please. I am trying to get GBPVR to record to a network drive and so far its not working. I will give it another go tonight after work, but I had a quick question. If I do indeed get the software to record to a network drive, can I view a program from the beginning while it is still recording?
I have done some searching and see that I need to have the recording service start using an account will full rights, but if anyone else has any "AHA" tips I would appreciate them.
I've recently installed the XRecord plug in and am very impressed with it. I do have one question about it's usage though. Is it possible to use the resume feature as avaliable in the regular default recordings playback module? There are many times that I am interrupted when watching a show/movie and exit the playback. With the default module I can resume to the point where I was at when I exited. Can this be done with XRecord too, and if so, how?
