I have a friend that is asking for my advice.
He wants to have a 3 Tv's and 1 Projector, 4 Satellite receivers (Direct TV) Be able to watch movies from DVD and save them to the Harddrive. Record and time shift as needed. Plus watch live TV from any of the 3 TV of Projector.
This is what I was planing, tell me if I am way off. 4 PVR-150 with IR Blasters to the satellite boxes, 3 MVP's. Hook up the computer to the projector and MVP to the 3 TV's
I know nothing about projectors he has not bought it yet but has one picked out. What to I need to run one? Us a TV out card or directly plug into the Video out?
I have spent ALOT of time trying to sort out all the problems of the PVR 150, getting it working in a Single card configuration was easy and had no problems. But I added the 2nd card things started to fall to pieces. I have searched the forums to find any help but they did not seem to help.
This is what I did to get mine working......
The drivers I am using are :-
Driver Release 2.0.43.24054.PreRelease (02/23/06)
1) Run HCWCLEAR
2) Reboot
3) Cancel the new hardware install.
4) Run HCWCLEAR
5) Switch off
6) Remove all the PVR 150 cards except 1.
7) Power on.
8) At the new hardware detected point it at the 2.0.43.24054.PreRelease (02/23/06) Drivers.
9) Reboot when done.
10) Get GBPVR working with one card. (I am using OVERLAY for a bit as that takes less memory)
11) Switch Off
12) Put in the next card.
13) Go to Step 7!!!!
I am posting here so others wont have to go through the PAIN I did.
The only problem is that on the analogue channels it starts off fuzzy then "tunes in" any one got an idea to what that is?
Is it possible that when GBPVR performs an external task that it just launches it...no need to tell me that I'm starting an external task.
Also, it seems that GBPVR likes to lock the external ask as a child process. Why? When I alt+tab, I can't see the child process in the task bar.
For instance, I launch either zoom player, ATI MMC and Media Player Classic and it would look so much better if the programs just popped up instead of seeing the black screen.
I'm new and my english is not very well- sorry! Does somewhere exist a German documenation?
I live in switzerland and have problems to get and set the channels with EGP. The tuning Assitent has search all channel, but afterwards in GB-PVR-config in Edit Recoring Source I can't setup EGP! How can I do with a Hauppauge PVR350?
Does somebody have some printouts for this Hardware TVcard (+Radio + IR34 Button)?
Does anybody have a procedure for increasing the brightness of the image produced by the MediaMVP? Using "normal" settings, it's too dark.
I've worked around the problem by increasing the brightness of the image produced by my WinPVR-150, but if I then watch video on my computer, it's way too bright and washed out.
Help! I've just installed the latest version and configured the EPG to download via Zap2it. Everything was working fine, but this morning I find that I can no longer scroll through the EPG!
It has updated correctly as I can see the latest entries via the web admin page. However no amount of scrolling (up down/right left/pg up down) seems to work. The log files do not display any specific errors and this was working the night before.
I've been away for over a week and come to find my EPG empty so I attempted a manual update through the config. I received the error "Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG Source Settings and try again"
Is anyone familiar with this issue and have a solution?
When searching, I now can only search by name of the show. It would be nice to be able to search by actor as well as by director. For example, if I wanted to record any shows in which Sidney Poitier is starring in, a search to record these shows would be useful. Thanks.
When I try to play divx files in GBPVR video library playback is jerky and I see black lines on the upper half portion of the video.
If I try to play the very same files in Windows Media Player, playback is perfect.
Doesn't GBPVR use the same divx codecs MP uses?
Please help me, GBPVR is working great. If only I could use it for watching my Divx files...
