Anyone happen to have the "Doc Martin" final?
Posted by: tieke - 2006-03-18, 07:53 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Not very likely I know, but does anybody (probably in NZ, as it was shown last week) have the Doc Martin season two final episode still around?

It was on recurring recording, but when my wife went to watch the episode tonight, found that for some reason the recording was only about 20 seconds long (and yes - I've checked the file size, it is only that long - it's not a time-stamp thing).

So - long shot I know, but if anyone does still have it recorded, I would be very grateful (and it should stave off the threatened return of the video recorder, as "at least that records the entire show" Smile )

cheers,

tieke

ff/rw instead of skip, can't change it.
Posted by: ram4x4nut - 2006-03-18, 03:15 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (19)

Hi Sub,

Ever since upgrading to 96.08 my MVP now does fast forward and rewind instead of skip. Skip works on the pc. It's driving my wife crazy! I've check setting both in the config app and config.xml and they all look ok. I'm attching logs, PLEASE HELP! She is ready to kill me!

The 1 minute skip works fine but the 10 second button is the one that fast forwards no matter what I change.

I'm using dongle.bin same as I always have.

  Error:too many active users
Posted by: 5058 - 2006-03-18, 02:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

I have noticed if I have had the PVR-pc running for 3-4 days without rebooting , the menus slow to a crawl ( 45 seconds to get into recordings and then 30-40 seconds to be able to select a recording and when I can finally select a recording to watch I get the pop up saying "error:too many active users" A reboot usually fixes this. 2 questions : 1. is there something I can do to fix this or 2. is there a way to schedule a reboot in the middle of the night?

Thanks

  Dvico HDTV card
Posted by: 4Aces - 2006-03-18, 02:06 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (17)

Anyone use this yet? supposedly analog ntsc, atsc OTA and QAM cable tuning. Meaning non encrypted cable in the us, don't have one myself yet so I don't know if that includes HDTV and DTV channels. It is software encoding so tweaks would need to be made I'm sure but it'd be nice to know if it worked sorta like your App.

Can an old laptop become a PVR?
Posted by: chris_staines - 2006-03-18, 01:37 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

Hello everyone,

I'm looking at the possibility of creating a PVR using a laptop i'm not using at present.

The laptop has the following specs:

1.2GHz Mobile AMD Athlon4 processor
512mb ram
40 Gb hard disk
S3 Savage 4 graphics chipset

I am planning on buying the Hauppauge NOVA-T-USB 2 TV Card to add to the laptop, along with GB-PVR software and the intention was that any recordings will be streamed over a wired network connection to a NAS box for storage, keeping the laptops disk free.

Does anyone see any inherent problems in a setup like this? (ie, will it work?)

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help.

  v96.12 and mvp remote problems?
Posted by: phatpho - 2006-03-17, 11:10 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

I just updated to v96.12 and am now having difficulty with the hauppauge remote that came with my mvp. while navigating the menu, the buttons seem to register. While using the search guide, the buttons work. however, when i'm watching a recorded show or video file, the pause/ff/rew/stop buttons dont work. the volume control buttons dont work either.

interestingly the red light on the mvp does blink like it is receiving a signal. the only button that works while watching is the power button.

anyone else have this issue? if not, can someone post the previous version of gbpvr, cuz i want my remote function back...

Posted by: teddy3501 - 2006-03-17, 10:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

this card is listed on the compatible capture card list. it's a hdtv card that uses conexant blackbird drivers. i've installed all the drivers ok, but when i attempt to watch livetv, i get "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

the pvr150 card works ok. below is from the log file. thanks!

  Remote question
Posted by: zamugustar - 2006-03-17, 09:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello if this has been asked already then please point me in the right direction, but I have been unable to find it posted.

I am using this wonderful program along with a haupage usb2 card and it works VERY well. I am going to be getting digital cable shortly though and am at a loss as to how to configure GBPVR to record on channel 3 and have some kind of device change the channel on the able box for me.

Can someone give me some links to hardware that can change a channel on a cable box for me? It is a Motorolla cable box and my cable company is http://www.advancedcable.net/cab_srv_pac...ml#digital

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Posted by: systemshark - 2006-03-17, 09:09 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (2)

Hello Everyone.

Please find attached the second release of my channel logo tool, It's a little application which downloads icons from the internet and allows you to match the icons with your channel names in GBPVR before publishing the to the CHANNELLOGO directory.

New Features :

  • Two new Logo Source Websites : Top Up TV and Tivo Logos,
  • Select Logo Directory without having to download
  • Better Logo Management
  • Fixed bug if GBPVR is not in default directory
  • Fixed bug if Logos exist in ChannelLogos Directory
Please note this is the second release.

download from : http://www.systemshark.com/channellogotool_v2.zip

Things still left to do :-
1)figure out how to get openfiledialog to start in thumbnail view. - MS say it cann't be done in .NET - Doh!
2)Anything anyone else suggests...

Good luck and please let me know what you think....
Regard Richard
