I am new and just got GBPVR intstalled and watching TV fine with a PVR150 with the Quartz.ddl replacement. I then tried to move on to recording somethings and whent the times comes to start the recording I am getting this error. Is there any place with error codes or does anyone know what this means? I have the latest PVR drivers and GBPVR software.
I am currently a SageTV 3.0.x beta user in despirate need of a "complete and stable" ATSC/NTSC media center solution. There is currently some bugs related to HDTV support that's not acceptable to me (ie, software cannot handle 2 Fusion 5 Lite BDA cards at the same time it eventually blue screens). Plus, the picture viewer and music jukebox is far from what I consider complete.
It looks like MCE 2005 is the most complete and STABLE out of all media center products. The only reason I can't use it is lack of Overlay (which I need since overlay has significantly better picture quality on my HTPC; especially ATSC material).
I am hoping somebody who has used both SageTV 3.0.x and GBPVR can tell me what their strengths and weaknesses are. When I ask on SageTV forums, they say simply that GBPVR isn't dependable/stable/fast as SageTV. Is this still true with the latest GBPVR beta?
It's obvious that GBPVR is more feature-rich because of all the plug-in functionality. But stabilty and speed makes the software "feel" like a real Tivo STV and less like a PC trying to act like a Tivo'
Hey guys. I'm currently going through the "codec shuffle". I'm trying to get a nice install going of GBPVR. I only want to use it to watch DVDs and recorded shows. I really don't even care about LiveTV too much, unless I can get outstanding quality.
I'm having some problems with DVDs at the moment. I slapped in Dawn of the Dead as a test, and it looks like all the whites in the movie are green. How do I adjust colors? I know it's not a GBPVR issue, as when I load PowerDVD by itself, the colors are still green. Anyone have advice for me?
I'd like to use the Cyberlink codecs for recorded shows as well. But when I pause, the system locks up. Only the Nvidia codecs handle recorded and LiveTV. I wish I didn't have to use 2 sets of codecs, but oh well, I'll just keep playing there.
So, I use gbpvr on a computer that's connected to a widescreen lcd tv, directly via the vga connection. So, my resolution is high (set to 1024x768 in windows, though I'm not sure that the tv displays that exactly. Anyway, my problem is I guess that the skins are set up for 720x480. However, that doesn't seem to be the *only* problem, because even when I drop down to 800x600, the text overlaps the buttons. Same problems as at 1024x768. I know that people have requested high-res skins, but I haven't actually found any yet.
My question is, what can I do in the skin.xml files just to fix a few minor issues that I'm having? Here are some screenshots:
See how the text on the bottom and on the buttons is "squashed?" Here are a few more:
What can I do to make this look better, so that the text isn't squashed? Or has someone come up with a high-res skin that I just haven't seen yet?
I'm using gbpvr with 2 mvp-devices. Now, I don't want that everybody can use it. It is possible to insert a PIN-Code-Management ?
There are two possibilities:
The simple one:
When gbpvr starts on mvp, the first screen is a PIN-Code window. If the correct pin is entered, the user get access to all gbpvr functions.
The good possibility:
I can define a pin-code.
When starting mvp I can enter with oder without pin. Now I can setup which function is only available in the "pin-entered-mode".
The protection should be set for this functions:
Any menü-Buttons (checkbox in the configure-windows: protected)
The channels. e.g. Playboy-TV should only be visible when the pin was entered.
Recordings: Show only recordings, where the channel is visible.
If this would be realized, my guests can use mvp, but only see some free tv-channels, recordings of this channels and can not use the picture and music-library.
When I start mvp and enter the pin, I have access to all the functions and channels.
Sub, how is there a chance to implement this feature ?
What say the other users about this feature ?
I reinstalled GBPVR and everything else....It is now like lightning (Like it should be). My only issue as of yet is that I have all off these DiVX (xvid) files, and I tried to fast forward through them but they wouldn't until I Alt+Tab out of GBPVR and back in. Then the keyboard worked fine and my universall learning remote which has all the keyboard commands programmed. Thanks to anyone who can help.
I'm not sure if this is normal, but, everytime I start gbpvr it seems to install itself again. Same witn config. Am I missing something or is this normal? Thanks, and thanks for a great program.
I was under the impression that I'd have about 3 weeks worth of listings at any given time, but recently, my zap2it listings stalled at this coming wednesday. There didn't appear to be any problem with the update epg function (it runs fine when I update manually, and I assume the 3am updates do as well--it just isn't giving me new listings), it seemed to process. This morning there was finally an addition to the listings, extending them to...This thursday? About 18 hours worth of new listings total.
I logged onto my account, there didn't appear to be any problems, the 'subscription' lasts to november, and there were no notifications.
Does you all have listings further out than Thurs (7pm)? I had hoped to do my programming a couple of weeks at a time. A set it and forget it sort of thing. Is this normal? I'm new.

I installed the Twinham card because the AIW doesnt cut it where I live (rural setting) and am very pleased with the results (reception is stunning).
I am currently using DVB-TV as my platform to watch, schedule and record TV(cant seem to find a website for this software :confused.
I would like to try GB-PVR out.
Is my card, computer system and location compatible with the GB-PVR software?
If so could someone please give me a walkthrough for installing it onto my computer as I am a real noob at this?
Would I need to install any other software as well?
