make PVR150 into a "dual" tuner
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2005-09-16, 02:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

(Sorry if it's a repost...I posted one earlier but it didn't look like it showed up)

I would like to be able to watch my digital Rogers Cable box using the s-video in and control it with my PVR150 IR blaster. I would also like to be able to watch regular cable using the normal tv tuner of the card.

In the end, I want to make my PVR150 into a "dual" tuner so that I can watch analog tv and record digital TV or vice versa.

Does anyone know how to do this or if it's even possible?

My setup
P4 2.8 GHz
HDD 200 GB + 250 GB
1 GB RAM
PVR150
RAdeon 9000
Chaintech 7.1 sound
D-link Airplus WLAN PCI Card

Wish list:
1 more PVR150
1 AIW card
(Total of three tuners and never watch live TV again!!!)

  TV Wonder Elite Windows Hang
Posted by: Imstupid910 - 2005-09-16, 01:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

TV Wonder Elite
P4 3.4 GHz
1 GB ram
X800 XL

I found GB-PVR on the web and was really interested, I installed it, configured it, and got a guide up and running. When I watch TV, it just hangs up and stops responding. I searched the forums for an answer, but no solution helped. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

  Recordings Directory Ignored?
Posted by: psycik - 2005-09-16, 01:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi

Any reason why a recording would plant itself in the gbpvr directory rather than where the configuration told it to?

My config is for recording in c:\myvideos and livetv buffer to c:\ (I know stoopid directories, but just moving from MythTV, and checking out Meedio and GB-PVR - GB-PVR is winning!!!)

But after a 10 minute manual recording, the file plonked itself inthe gbpvr directory. I am however on .92 and just about to load .94

  VA Panel
Posted by: nightwalker - 2005-09-16, 12:37 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (15)

Jeff:

I hate to mention this but I seem to still be having trouble with the va panel. I thought it fixed itself somehow but alas i was wrong.

It's hard to even point out where it's going wrong but the next recordings displays sometimes work, sometimes not. yesterday things were just fine, no troubles everything displayed as it should. today it's not showing anything as comming up to record even though there are several scheduled over the next 24 hour period that i have it set for.

I'm not sure what else to say, any info you need that i can provide i'm happy to.

Oh one more thing, the weather plug is doing weird things today too. maybe it's my auora today. seems it's getting something wrong or missing a graphic or both. i've attached a screen shot, i hope.

Anyway thanks for listening

  Remember where I was
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-09-15, 11:36 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Sometimes I'm watching a (long) recording and I have to go run an errand or something, causing me to stop it and remember where i stopped it so when i continue, i fast forward to that spot. Is there a way to create "bookmarks" in recordings where I can press one of the buttons at that 'bookmark' and set it. That way i can leave adn come back and go back to that bookmark... that's my newest wish.

Oh and I have another wish: i've put a couple of posts that no one has responded to Sad ... Would love it if someone responded to them Big Grin

remote for pvr 500 mce - wireless keyboard/learning remote?
Posted by: jfox95 - 2005-09-15, 10:07 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

I have been reading around the forums. some suggest the jb1 option, others use the hauppauge with no problem and some use the MCE remote.

my first question is, which has the most functionality/compatibility with gbpvr out of the box?

and has anyone tried the wireless keyboard/learning remote route? u have a wireless keyboard, get a learning remote and have the remote learn the codes from the keyboard? i heard of people doing this with mythtv. ( i used to use that, but it was too much config for me and i had problems - dont know linux that well)

i havent installed gbpvr yet, im still waiting for parts to come in. but from wat i hear, gbpvr works very well! cant wait!

thanks

  Radeon 7000 Hardware mpeg2 decode
Posted by: drplix - 2005-09-15, 10:06 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I've just installed a cheap Radeon 7000 card. It is marketed as having hardware mpeg2 decode and motion compensation deinterlace. Does anyone know how to get this to work with GBPVR.

So far all I've done is install the standard ATI drivers - but I don't see any option for the card in the hardware decoder drop down, nor any new "software" decoder.

Any help appreciated.

  Disappearing mouse cursor
Posted by: NiteShdw - 2005-09-15, 09:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I thought I had asked this question before but I can't find my old thread...

Anyway, while running GB-PVR and playing a video, my mouse cursor keeps disappearing. I'm using dual-displays with GB-PVR on one while I use the computer on the other display. The problem is that while I'm working with a program, my mouse cursor disappears until I move my mouse back to the GB-PVR window. Needless to say it makes using the other programs and GB-PVR at the same time nearly impossible, or at the least extremely irritating.
