I have suddenly started getting a lot of failed recordings. It seems to be second or third in a row on the same channel. Sometimes they pl;ay normally but suddenly I loose the ability to FF. If I restart playback they will sometimes FF normally, but often become failed recordings. Strange thing is they will play in Linux using Celuloid. The sound comes from the MB speaker instead of the selected output, but that's probably a Linux issue I'll need to address in the Mint Forum[attachment=undefined][attachment=undefined]

I’m experiencing a recurring issue when attempting to load channels in Kodi using the NextPVR add-on. When I select a stream, I often receive a connection error, and I have to select the channel multiple times (sometimes up to five attempts) before it successfully loads.
It seems like this could be due to a timeout setting, where the connection window closes if the stream doesn’t load within a certain timeframe. I’m wondering if adjusting this limit—perhaps increasing the timeout duration—might help solve the problem, but I’m unsure if it’s something I can configure or if there might be another underlying cause.
Here's what I've tried so far:

1. Verified that the NextPVR server is accessible from the web interface.
   
2. Temporarily disabled firewall and antivirus settings, just in case they were blocking the connection.
   
3. Checked both Kodi and NextPVR logs, but I didn’t see anything conclusive about connection issues.

I have been watching the announcement's in anticipation for the latest NextPVR update.  The last update was October of last year.  Has there been an update and I just have been looking in the wrong area?  When can we expect a new update?

Hi All, having a minor issue with recorded files not playing correctly in plex or VLC, it seems pretty hit or miss.  I've talked a a few others with similar recording setup they found that utilizing postprocessing to remux to .mp4 solved almost every issue with file lengths showing something like 1d 4h and the quick ffmpeg corrects the timestamp issues.

I've setup postprocessing.sh abut I cannot figure out how to make it run.  I'm not great with docker or linux but a generic suggestion I found was to make sure it was executable with chmod -x, which I did.  I tried using chatgpt to help me figure out how to manually run the script on a file, but I can't get that to work either.  I tried adding an echo to the script to generate a log file which is was leads me to believe it's not running as it's not created.

TL;DR: I've spent like 90 minutes trying to get this to run, it's probably a stupid error and I can't for the life of me figure it out.

I just got a new Provider whose VOD entries show up in the TV channels instead the VOD section.

As I have the possibility to change the M3U output I should be able to fix this but in order to do that
I need help on how NextPVR separates these entries.

This entry works fine and shows up in the VOD section:

My player groups them properly and filters by 'VOD' in the group-title.

How does NextPVR approach this ?

Android app version 1.9.240218, phone SM-A145R/DSN, Android version 14, One UI version 6.1
I go into the guide and scroll across to the next day, select a programme and select to record once.
What I want to do then is carry on scrolling into the future from the point where I was, but the guide reverts back to the current time, so I then have to scroll back to where I was then continue looking for new things I want to record.
Looking for new programmes is the main thing I want to do on the app.

I'm on NextPVR 6.1.5.231022. I don't normally use subtitles, but when my half-deaf Dad was here I turned them on (DVB Subtitles [eng]). On one channel, U&Drama (UK), the 2nd or 3rd coloured subtitles are not a single colour, but a pattern that is sometimes hard to read. If I watch the same programme on the TV the subtitles are normal, but the same transmission via NPVR has this strange effect. I have looked for, but can't find, any configuration for subtitle colours. See attached example. It seems to be a problem on any content from that channel, other channels seem okay.
I tried on anther TV via the android app, and it offered "English [DVB Subtitle 6614}" but when selected said "No matching subtitle found".
If I watch the same thing on my laptop via the webpage, the subtitle in the same place is normal (pale blue). Log attached ends with the picture on pause displaying the strange patterned text.

Should NextPVR  be able to handle 2 client streams (same OTA channel) under docker on older hardware?

I am just trying to have two TVs playback the same OTA TV channel and while I can get playback to start on both, slowly they start to studder, and eventually the video hangs. Changed the server and client software but pretty much have the same results. Thoughts? Swap out any of the software? Config changes? Do I need to install NPVR native?

Here's my setup:

Ubuntu Server 24.04.1 LTS - kernel 6.8.0-35240528-generic

4 core i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10GHz

24 GiB RAM

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950 hooked up to a powered antenna

Tried docker containers of nextPVR. All other containers shutdown

playback on ONN 4k and CGTV (tried VLC, Kodi, and others)

All devices wired GigE

I've been unable to install any later version on my new Win11pro machine past version 5.0.
I ran the latest version of NPVRSetup.exe, and the installation completed.
I've uninstalled, and re-installed. I have plenty of spare RAM and disk space.

Settings says "Version: 5.0.6.200614  (6.1.5.231022 is available for download) "

v5.0 is working, but I can't link it to Kodi v21.1, where the NextPVR addon insists I have at least v5.2 of the NPVR backen running.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hello all!

Love the plugin still, but I'm getting loads of failed recordings on multiple channels:
TVNZ 1, TVNZ 2, RUSH, Sky Open, Sky Open+1

Good news is the recordings which are working seem to have audio (previous problem) but loads are failing.
Isn't a disk space issue:
vdruser@ubuntu2020:/srv/vdr/video$ df -h | grep md
/dev/md1                1.8T  1.3T  505G  72% /srv/vdr/video

It's not a permissions issue:
su - nextpvr
touch /srv/vdr/video/NextPVR/Judge\ Judy/Season 25/TEST


Any ideas?
