will Nextpvr w/ windows10 an silicondust tuners always require an internet connection to record schduled programs?
I do relize the initial setup of Silicon dust doe's require internet connection but after it's setup is the ?.?
also concerned w/ how a win10 PC sleeps like when it needs to wake for a scheduled recording will the logon pin# need to be entered? thanks for advise.
I just installed NextPVR app on my new mini-computer. While setting everything up, the web browser app did not see my 1TB drive I'd installed in the extra bay for TV recordings. Everything else worked fine. I tested the access of the D drive by saving a text file to it, so I know it's properly configured by Windows.
Anyone have an idea why the software is not seeing the drive?
Thank you.

Hello,
I am having an issue with the NextPVR service not automatically running after a system reboot. I have it set to run automatically but for whatever reason it will not start running without me having to go in and start it manually.
Any thoughts?
Thank You,

When using the NextPVR web console to stream channels it appears the config/web/temp folder is where the ts files are dumped.
is it possible to redirect that with the docker run command:
Not sure if this thread belongs here or in the Hardware sub-forum, but here goes. (Mods: please move it there if you consider it a more appropriate spot for this subject.)
In light of the information gleaned toward the end of my previous thread, I'm looking for recommendations for a remote that will broadly work on NextPVR in Microsoft Windows. Here's the setup that we are looking to put together:
One Windows PC getting a signal from a cable company set-top box via a Hauppauge HDPVR2. An HDMI splitter would send one arm to the HDPVR2 and the other straight to a TV set, which would also receive HDMI from the PC at another input.
(Note: We have three TV sets, but for a variety of reasons we do not wish to set up a network, preferring two of the TVs to be fed by their own STB-HDPVR2-PC chain and the other one only by a cableco DVR.)
All TV viewing with NPVR will be done at distances of 15-20 feet (meaning: not at a desk or on a portable device on our laps) and remote controls are preferred over mice and keyboards.
And finally, we would prefer to avoid using the "smart" aspects of modern TV sets, working instead through either the Windows NextPVR Player or the Web app.
Those who have used Windows Media Center will see that we're trying to replicate the WMC model as closely as possible.
For those reading this who have a similar setup or who have used one in the past -- are there any remotes that enable you to control all of the NPVR functions in either the Web app or the Player? For changing directly to a new channel (as opposed to scrolling up/down a channel list), it would require a numeric keypad.
What type or brand of remote do you use or would recommend?
SiliconDust HDHomeRun Flex Quatro ATSC HDFX-4US
1.This tuner has 4 tuners 2 regular a 2 ATSC3? or 2 regular an 2 ATSC1 (making it useless to record ATSC3?
I think theres some missinformation being thrown around by SD on ebay they say ATSC then at there website it's ATSC1 they are are getting real sneakie an low down w/ the truth.
2.will the 2 ATSC3 tuners in addition to ATSC3 work on regular channels also
3.or just work on ATSC3 bc at the moment,
4.I don’t think I have any ATSC 1 or 3 channels in my area (zip code 36111)so will I be reduced to only 2 regular tuners w/ this device?
5.when my area doe’s get ATSC3 channels: when I schedule a program to record a ATSC3 channel is the Silicon dust smart enough to use the ATSC tuner?
6.if both ATSC3 tuners are occupied w/ a scheduled recording will a regular tuner be able to record a ATSC3 channel?an vise versa? If yes by how much will the picture quality be degraded?
I'm taking a chance on this technology BC I had the orginal dual tuner in addition to haugpage 1800 an 2250 total of 5 tuners. whenever W7MC didn't record a scheduled recording due to loss of signal it was allways the silicondusts fault.
90% of the time the silicondust worked fine.
using windows10 pro an NextPVR
to be honest I don't even know what the differnce in regular ATSC1 an ATSC3 is or did so marketing guy just write some stuff on a sales pitch?
thanks for advise on there new Flex Quatro
Hello, I have been using NextPVR for 5-6 years but am new to posting on the forum. I have been running the server and client on a Windows 10 computer but it's too old to upgrade to Win11 and I want to get away from Microsoft. I've purchased a Mac Mini M4 and I had planned to run the NextPVR server in Mac OS, but after reading about issues surrounding that I decided it would be easier to try a Docker container installation instead. I have a recently purchased NAS on my network, but I thought I'd use some of that Apple computing power instead, because the Mac Mini is only being used as a media computer. BTW, I've been using PC's and Windows since the MS-DOS days, but I'm new to Mac's, NAS's, Docker, linux, etc.
So to get closer to my question: I just realized there isn't a NextPVR Docker image for arm64. What I've been able to find (after asking my friend Google multiple questions) says the arm32v7 image won't work with M4 machines and the amd64 image is for Intel machines. But, I also saw that Docker has some sort of built-in emulation process, and using the amd64 image might work in Docker (or maybe Orbstack instead) on Mac OS on an M4 machine. Can anyone offer any advice on this?
Failing being able to run in a Docker container on the Mac, at this point I think my only other options are to add a Raspberry Pi 3 to the network and run the server on it in linux or Docker (but I'd rather not add another device I have to manage and pay attention to) or run it in a Docker container on the NAS, which has an Intel chip.
The NextPVR forum has been very helpful to me, and I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
Since updating to the newest version, I have had unreliable IPTV.
That may be coincidence of course and there may need to be a deep dive with logs et al but is there a simple way to revert to the previous version to just eliminate that easily?
How does game posters work in NextPVR? The first game I recorded was the Philadelphia and Dallas game. The show poster reflected that game. But when I look at any other subsequent NFL Football games the same poster is used. Can NextPVR use show posters that actually reference the game?
