I've been happily using an old arm32v7 image, version 6.1.5.231022, for years on a Raspberry Pi 4. Works fine for my purposes.
Today I tried to update to the latest image, version 7.0.2.250621. The only thing I changed was to pull the new image from Docker Hub; I kept the rest of the configuration the same. To me it now "feels" like I've lost communication with my tuner, which is a USB-connected single tuner Hauppauge 950.
For this device, the docker run command specifies:
Code:
--device /dev/dvb:/dev/dvb
but perhaps this is not correct or sufficient for the new version of NextPVR? From dmesg I see the tuner device being found and being initialized with microcode on /dev/dvb, so that's good.
On the plus side, the web interface for the new version does come up, I can log into it, and I see my device list and channel map as before. EPG fetching also works. But there's no evidence that NextPVR is talking with the tuner (channel scan, manual program request yield either "Transcoder exited" or "There is no tuner available").
If I simply switch back to the old image (with docker tag) and reboot, everything works again. I'd sure like to have the benefits of the newest NextPVR version if possible - any suggestions? Thanks!
This one has me scratching my head.
I set a recording to take place at 01:00 AM this morning.
Thought I made sure my power wouldn't be off or that my pc wouldn't go to sleep.
Still failed to record. I looked through the log file...but not exactly sure what I'm looking for.
Well we still getting crashes.
I just seen this, does this mean a fix is coming soon?
UI clients can be nice and fortuanately don't take much maintenance from sub either once (knock on wood for libSKiaShap in the next version).

I have been running NextPVR on a LibreElec server for almost a year and it is working well for me. All seems Ok except the recordings listed on the playback client does not show all the recordings actually on the disk. This is not a major problem as I tend to watch and delete most recordings within a week. However there are some old recordings I would like to watch but don’t have access from any client.
I thought that an easy work around would be to enable the NextPVR client “Video” menu item which I usually delete and point it to the data disk on the server! However I have been unable to connect to the server from the LibreElec standard client or the NextPVR New Client.
I was perhaps expecting one of the options it to display the local LibreElec NFS server but all give no response!
However “Recordings” is an option under the “Browse for new share” menu but this is not the full contents of the “DATA_DISK”.
I can connect to /var/media/DATA_DISK from FileZilla but that is via SFTP!
I am getting a bit rusty with nfs since I retired many years ago after being admin on a subnet of Linux servers so could do with some help!!

When configuring a new instance of NextPVR for Windows 10, Version Version: 7.0.2.250621.
On the Guide Page, when setting up a new XMLTV based channel lineup, the Add XMLTV Lineup dialog requires either a manual text entry or a copy and paste.
That itself is not an issue, but if you paste a standard windows quoted path (which is typical if the path contains spaces), the dialog will accept the entire string including the quotes without any error, but the guide data won't be selectable for any of the tuners. And there won't be any import errors.
Manually removing the quotes from the string fixes the problem.
Haugppage 1800 ASTC tuner reconized as IPTV Device unknown how to scan for channels?
when attempting to import message reads m3u url (required) guide xmltv url (optional)
this device currently has no channels hit scan or import buttons to add channels to this devise.
I've been using a "no name" Android TV box for a couple of months with UI Client and it's okay and I'm quite happy with it. I've heard good things about the nVidia Shield Pro though and I'm tempted but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Any thoughts gratefully received.
Hi, I've been running nextpvr on a dell XPS 8500 with a 3rd gen i7 running windows 10. it's been working fine for years now. I have 2 HVR-2250 cards that are PCI-e x1 and should theoretically work in a newer system. That's the part I've been struggling with. I just purchased a dell Inspiron with a i5 8th gen CPU off ebay. It has 32gb of ddr4, 2 PCI-e x1 slots and a PCI-e x16 slot. Now, I just installed Windows 11 adn got nextpvr up and running. I installed the tuners and then went to install the drivers. it detected noting. I went into device manager, checked for the cards, nothing. Weird right? That's not all though, I went into the UEFI Bios and checked for the devices in the bios. it says they were empty. to confirm that there was not something wrong with the pci-e slots I plugged in a nvidia quatro p400 gpu that I had from the old machine. that was detected fine. I tried a pci-e to sata controller that uses pci-e x1 and that was detected fine. WHY in the world are the tuners not detected??? I've been searching the internet for clues as to if there is some incompatibly with these cards on newer machines, but I have found no solid evidence. IS there a firmware update? from what i could tell no. Again, I ask
Has anyone gotten these cards working with a modern day system? If yes, please let me know how?
