  Redrat3
Posted by: paulrking - 2004-04-14, 08:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

All things being considered it's going remarkable well (compared to my attempts to get mythTV working under Fedora anyway!!!Wink. My gbpvr runs through the pvr350 with sound and plays/records "live TV" from my video camera on the svideo input of the pvr350. XMLTV source for channels importing nicely, netradio and stored video and mp3 all mighty fine - many, many thanks for an excellent package [Image: biggrin.gif] .

OK.. second sky STB arriving on Friday so that will be the real crunch but in the meantime my redrat3 has arrived today so the $64,000 question is girder or redrat's command line exe rr_cli? Anyone got any experience using the redrat3 and gbpvr or any other pvr?

Second part of question do you have to teach the redrat3 to control say a PACE digibox or are there databases of presets?

Many thanks in advance
PK

OSD works on TV out, Direct TV does not
Posted by: holybuck - 2004-04-14, 05:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

When I connect my tv to the tv out (on PVR 350) the OSD works, but when I try to watch tv (or a recording) either the OSD remains on the tv (on VGA it turns black with the 'tv out' msg) or the screen of tv turns black.

TV-out on WinTV2000 works.

Any suggestions?

  xcard

OK, I give up on the pvr 350 card. Looks like if you have a crashing problem with OSD it is going to stay that way. I am returning it today and buying an xcard. [Image: mad.gif]

What xcard model are people using that has a video out. Thanks.

Potential bug in the Manual recording
Posted by: fredroger - 2004-04-14, 08:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

I have installed GBpvr 2 days ago. I tried to record programs manually without success. The software claims, it is recording, the capture card (pvr350) is locked, but nothing is written on the HDD.
After trying on my other PC (first PC with win XP, second with win 2000), I had the same effect. No recording.

I solved the problem by removing the default option: AUTO-CREATE FOLDERS WHEN RECORDING.

As I have no EPG at the moment, I think, the program has no name to begin with, and fails to create a file name.

I hope, this will help the programmer(s?), who already did a great job.

  Potential bug with net radio
Posted by: CodeMonkey - 2004-04-14, 02:51 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I was listening to a net radio station, then switched to the music library page and selected a mp3 to play. The net radio stopped playing and the mp3 played fine. I stopped and started a few mp3's when I noticed my network tray icon was still showing a lot of traffic. I waited a bit more and still saw the heavy net traffic. I exited gb-pvr and the traffic went away. I suspect gb-pvr stopped playing the net radio station when I played the mp3, but it didn't shut down the stream.

And yes, the mp3 files were local so that wasn't it [Image: smile.gif]

I see the .pls files. How do you create them? And how do you find the info. For example, what would I do to add this station http://www.knac.com.

Thanks.

  Recording problems
Posted by: Guest - 2004-04-14, 02:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Sub,
I've been having problems getting recordings to actually record. Just now I started a manual recording, a folder called manual recordings was created in my video library folder but there is not a file in the folder. Disk light flashes as if a recording was being made, but no file. Recordings menu says "Recording", but I can't find the file. Over the last week or so, I've had a number of scheduled recordings not record.

Got any ideas? Things to try? I've restarted the recording service a couple of times, still no change.

Thanks,

Bryan

  Shortcuts
Posted by: nkh - 2004-04-13, 09:24 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

The menus doesn't seam to respont very quickly, so is it posible to make some shortscuts using the numbers on the remote? (so "1" would take you to the TV Guide, "4" would take you to the Recordings and so on).

-- Ignore this [Image: smile.gif] I missed this thread Topic: Menu Navigation, specifically on the MVP.
Also, if there's a long list of songs in the Music Library it takes a long time to scroll down the list, and if you just keep the down button pressed for a couple of seconds it keeps scrolling for awhile afterwards.

I don't know if this is a common problem or if it's just my computer that's slow (via 1ghz mini-itx), but I have had the problem in all the gbpvr versions I have tried (hmm.. I think I started with v11, now v15e on an new XP installation).

moving from bottom to top through menu
Posted by: bs007 - 2004-04-13, 05:32 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

In the different menu's it can be handy that when you go down the menu and arrive at the last button on the bottom, when you move one more down the 'cursor' would go to the first button again. So in the Main menu when you go down from Exit you go to TV Guide.
