Sub,
Indeed, I had forgotten to install .net framework. Now it works.
-I do have sound in LiveTV
-Pause works great!!
-Manual recording works, whether the system wakes up I don't know. Also, I still have an issue with standby and the pvr350. (I'm not very interested in the EPG)
There are of course some issues/bugs:
-After several channel switches, there is no sound anymore; Â also after playing a file.
-Yesterday, while in pause mode, playing the delayed file, I skipped backwards ==> the main menu appeared.
-In the recordings window, clicking (with the remote) on an available recording gives an error message (msg=0x100). OK on the remote dismisses that message and I can go back to the main menu. However, if I click the message away with the mouse results in reappearing of error messages... The remote doesn't help then.
-When playing a file, the first press on ffwd does nothing. The second press makes the movie ffwd. Play resumes normal playback.
-When playing a file the last few seconds are ignored. As far as I know this also happens with wintv2000, but not in windows media player.
-What happens with the livetv.mpg files?
-Stop for music doesn't work (was known)
-Skip to next/previous song from gbpvr would be nice; so would be volume control.
Still some testing to do (music playback etc...)
Greetings and success!
MaBo - who thinks gbpvr is better usable than wintv2000 ;-)
The way that ananova.com deals with the short programmes is to concatenate them to the previous programme and identify it as "followed by" - e.g.
- in the ananova xmltv feed it's easy to see which should be "followed by" as the second programme is "embedded" in the first programme ends (i.e. they end at the same time - in this case both finish at 7pm.)
This adds a greater level of complexity in reading the xmltv file, but would "read" more like the TV schedules.
It would be great to be able to have the ability to set up shows that would be recorded whenever they are on - e.g. I'm a bit of an addict for "Worlds Wildest Police Videos", and would like to record all episodes that are on the TV. This could be done through the config interface rather than the TV interface by linking it into the EPG upload function or as a "series record" button in the TV guide.
i'm seeing some weirdness with respect to the TV Guide. I currently list all channels for my area but have only 4 selected. When i update the xmltv data file, in the TV Guide section i get my 4 channels then the rest of the channels listed after them..
Going back into the Configuration app. the EPG info still lists only the 4 channels as enabled.
Something my DVD player does, that I find very useful, is to allow you to resume a disc that has been removed from the machine at a later time - useful for those times when your viewing is interrupted by a small child who wants to watch a DVD of their own!
This would be an extremely useful feature for video playback on gbpvr - when starting a video that has been seen partway through before, you could be prompted to start from the beginning or from the last viewed point.
have been playing with 007 today. A pretty solid release. Have been able to use scheduled recordings, and my machine wakes up from hibernation to record the program.
I'm switching to GBPVR for all scheduled recordings from now on to really test this out.
Live TV works for about 10 seconds then completely freezes my machine. THis is using VMR9 and the default codec. I have not done anymore investigation into this yet as i need my machine up for a few days
Playback for recoded programs works nicely.
One point, if i record a program and delete it through Explorer, its still listed in GBPVR and I cannot remove it (Under recordings option). Might be useful to be able to delete entries in this case or it checks to see if the mpg is there, if missing maybe remove it automatically or prompt to remove it?
2003-12-29 v0.0.7
- Added support for USB-UIRT
- Improved stability of PVR350 Live TV support
- Start to change some of popup error message boxes into proper OSD messages.
- Automatically detect TV Format (PAL/NTSC) and adjust size of OSD accordingly
- Improved handling of internal tuner. Now also creating a log for this component (direct.log)
- Improved speed of startup and channel changing with Live TV (particularly when using PVR350).
- A few minor changes to the icon view. Primarily to get a bit more realestate for showing the preview images.
- Direct Recorder now using tuner input type (Cable/Antenna).
I drew a 3 pixel yellow border around the background and fiddled with the settings until I could see all of the borders.
This is when my TV is in 4:3 mode - perhaps an enhancement would be to be able to set the offset dynamically depending on the format of your TV (mine does 4:3, 14:9, and 16:9) - you could use the "full" button on the remote to cycle through the appropriate sizes?
Also I tried changing the width and height to match the PAL output (720x576) but this caused the picture to remain in the same place all the time even when I set an offset of 400!
