When viewing the guide and you select a program to see the information on the program, it would be great if on that part information on cast / actors could be displayed as often programs and films contain this information.
I encountered a problem the other day when I recorded a program that had an exclamation mark in its title.
The recording was fine, but my postprocess.bat didn't like it.
The folder and filenames looked like:
D:\NextPVR_recordings\Bushwacked!\Bushwacked!.S03E03.ext
but the batch file was reading the path as
D:\NextPVR_recordings\Bushwacked.S03E03.ext and thought that !\Bushwacked! was a variable. Clearly it fell over from that point on.
I guess the fix is to copy %1 into a variable and go from there, but my code uses various forms of extended parameters %~dpnx throughout so I'd have to create multiple variables for each form used.
Just wondering if there is a setting somewhere that will force NextPVR to use "Windows_Friendly" characters in folder and filenames like the yt-dlp option :
Code:
--windows-filenames Force filenames to be Windows-compatible
The other option is to not use Bushwacked! for test recordings in the first place, and to rename the folder and files if it happens again, then run PostProcess manually.
I thought I'd report this as an observation - it's not a serious issue.
"Unauthenticated Access" is ticked, thus why I am reporting. I still get 401.
I can tick/untick "Allow unauthenticated access for streaming Live TV / Recordings" even with a nextpvr container restart I get the same 401 error when I try to access when I attempt to play recordings.
Ie I posted on https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...568&page=3 and followed the thread.
However, I did not understand why "Unauthenticated access" was required since it was not ticked beforehand, and as far as I remember with Jellyfin 10.8 and Jellyfin NextPVR plugin 8 I could access the recordings. I even took care that the sid=jellyfin was indeed in the URL.
I had no NextPVR server or setting change for 7 months, since the last release.
I am using a hostname as NextPVR is another host docker. Both are on the same LAN. Same setup as the reporter on https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=65568 two boxes on the same LAN (but he might use IPs instead of hostnames).
Mind I am pretty confident this setup was working before the jellyfin upgrade to 10.9 (no nextpvr change) and I had "Unauthenticated Access" unticked until a few days ago when I tried the PR for jellyfin 10.9 and failed.
Hello, My laptop windows 11 installed nextpvr last week installation was good, was able to record, had all tv listings, but now no lisitings for today and coming days.
Can you advise how to solve this issue please.
I have reinstalled nextpvr, under devices cleared out m3u url and epg
I re-enterd m3u url and epg no luck
changed time for updating the epg no luck
Hello, wondering if it is possible to use UI Droid from within Kodi app on Fire TV Cube 3rd gen.
I know I can launch android app from within the kodi gui itself, but am looking for a more elegant solution, where from the main Kodi interface, I could launch UI Droid, and then when finished, I end up back at the main Kodi interface.
Reason being, I have micro-stutter issues when watching content from my STB on the Fire TV Cube 3rd gen.
(am told this particular device has serious firmware bug that is the root cause of the micro-stutter)
I already have UI Droid installed, and it' s playback engine does not exhibit the micro-stutter.
I love Kodi etc for movies and use Jellyfin intergration, and wonder if there is a method I can use UI Droid from within Kodi to replace Kodi's PVR addon functionality by just running UI droid on top, and then return back into Kodi app.
I guess it would be classed as some kind of kodi launcher addon?
Just wondered if anyone has suggestion how to accomplish the above.
Is there any documentation regarding running two instances of nextpvrServer running on one server on different ports that have independent versions of NPVR-data folders or independent versions of npvr.db3? Majority of the sources are IPTV but the server does have a tuner card and I would like it shared across the 2 NextPVRServer instances if possible.
After converting my files to MPG, I am trying to clean the commercials already flagged by comskip.
This is what is in my batch file:
"c:\program files (x86)\Miscellaneous\mencoder\mencoder" "%~dpn1.mpg" -edl "%~dpn1.edl" -oac copy -ovc copy -of mpeg -o "%~dpn1_clean.mpg"
The resulting file when I use the open file in NextPVR shows a total length of 26 hrs but should be close to 1 hr.
Is there something I should add to clean it up?
This is not strictly a NextPVR question but it is NextPVR related.
Currently I have NextPVR v3.82 (yeah a really really old version) running on an also really really old server feeding our NMT's
Because I am now mostly deaf I have the component out sound from the NMT feeding an analogue amplifier that feeds the base station for my wireless volume controlled headphones.
This works really well as the NMT is feeding the TV via hdmi & the volume on the TV doesn't affect the volume on my headphones, this allows the boss to change it as much as she likes without affecting me.
I am currently almost ready to move to v5-v6 NextPVR using a near new Win11 PC as the replacement server & feed the TV's via uidroid & Chrome Cast with Goole TV units (I have this mostly setup & working).
The issue being is how do I get separate sound with modern technology... I have a toslink cable for the sound out from the TV & an optical to analogue adaptor to feed my amplifier which 'should' get my headphones working but what do I need to get (that doesn't cost two arms & a leg) to get sound for the wife that she can change the volume on without affecting the volume for me as well??
I am quite willing to admit I am way behind technology wise on this sort of stuff these days.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
As per thread subject, is the HDPVR recording profile always VBR?
Reason I am asking, is that I was trying to test if my colossus2 card could record in CBR mode.
I changed the 1080i profile in the config.xml to CBR, rebooted, and then tried recording something.
According to Mediainfo, the resultant recording profile is variable bitrate.
Basically am messing around with my Fire TV Cube 3rd gen again, and when viewing 1080i recorded content from MyskyHDi STB, am seeing micro-stutter in both live TV and the recording in Kodi.
Have mentioned this before, and it was determined this is not a NextPVR issue as such, but I never resolved it, and instead have been using my Nvidia Shield, which has no such issue with Kodi as client.
I might be mistaken, but in the old days when I had the original Colossus1 card, I thought I was able to record 1080i CBR at 20mbit.
When my original card gave up the ghost, I obtained a Colossus 2 card, which is supposed to be able to record 1080p at 14mbit.
Mediainfo says bitrate is 14.2 mbit, but states variable bitrate.
My question, is mediainfo lying, and the recording is really CBR, or is the setting change to CBR in NextPVR's config actually not doing anything.
Why am I even contemplating trying to change to CBR?. Well more for testing, to see if it makes any difference to the micro-stuttering I see when watching content from STB.
I see the micro-stuttering in scenes with fast movement, especially when watching the WWE Wrestling shows.
I have tried changing my STB's output to 720p, but it still does the microstutter, and sometimes even worse that the 1080i content.
So, am now wondering if it is something occurring during recording, so thought about whether the VBR could be freaking out at certain scenes, as the microstutter seems to occur just at moments of fast movement, or sudden lighting changes, and similar stuff like that.
NextPVR's default profile for HDPVR seems to be between 9mbit and 13500mbut VBR.
(grin) I know this is something unique to my setup with STB, but it drives me freaking banana's, and I see the microstutter/freezing for an instant.
Thought I would see if I could fix the issue, before I wham out my fire tv cube with a 50 pound lump hammer!
heh heh.
