All was working satisfactorily until I upgraded to KODI 17.3. On trying to use KODI it could not communicate with NextPVR. So I tried to see LiveTv within NextPVR and received the message "Unable to communicate with recording service". I have check previous threads with this heading and this appears to me to be different, hence my post.
I tried starting NRecord.exe manually and received the message:
Unhandled exception: System.I.O. FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Unmanaged.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found. at NRecord.Program.Main(String[]args)
Unmanaged.dll does exist.
I deleted NextPVR and re-installed and got the same results.
I also started NextPVR Recording Service from within Task Manager/Services. Same result.
Logs are attached.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
I am using Hauppauge's DCR-3250 Triple Tuner which is the virtual equivalent of SiliconDust's HDHomeRun device. HDHomeRun is ahead of DCR-3250 with regard to gleaning information from a cable supplier's channel list. The list can be obtained by visiting the device's LAN web page.
In particular, HDHomeRun will detect the type of encoding used for each channel, usually MPEG2 or H.264. This info is very useful to NextPVR when it comes to setting up the channels for a tuner. DCR-3250 does not provide this information and I am missing video on some channels.
I have asked Hauppauge about a new firmware update as they usually do when SiliconDust releases new firmware for there device. I asked them back in November 2016 and, at that time, their reply was that they're working on it. Right.
It's now nearly June 2017 and I have frequently checked the Hauppauge site for an update. Nothing. A new email to them has so far gone unanswered.
I'd like to know if there are any NextPVR users out there that are using HDHomeRun with the latest firmware(ver 20161117/20161119) and are connected to the Verizon FiOS Queens - Digital(USA-NY67791-X) channel lineup. If so, I'd like to get a copy of the "<HDHomeRunIP>\lineup.xml" file from the HDHomeRun LAN web page.
Have a Windows 10 machine using Kodi 17.3 with NextPVR as the PVR. Have a Ceton quad tuner for the HD TV. Everything is working really well except that a few channels do not work in Live TV mode. I can record from these channels and playback is flawless when watching these recordings. These channels come in fine when using the NextPVR either directly or through the localhost browser interface. I tried X NEWA (it is a program addon, not a PVR addon) as a NextPVR alternate. They both use Next PVR backend. X NEWA works so maybe the issue is the NextPVR plugin settings?
Anyone know a fix for the few channels not playing live in Kodi via the NextPVR addon?

Hi,
When NextPVR generates a recording.. all good.. and the .ts file exists where it is supposed to..
Recording plays fine from the folder (using VLC)
but if I say open the NextPVR web page.. goto recordings.. I can see the recording but it tries to stream it from somewhere when I double click or play it??
there's a download link.. but not sure what that's for?
well.. as the recording already exists on the hard disk.. so why doesn't it just play when told?
can you associate a player like VLC as say the default playback app?
not a big issue.. as I can just visit the folder and play with VLC anyway.. just thought it should work from the NextPVR browser interface..
maybe I just haven't configured something right?
any clues..
This is a siamese twin to my post in the kodi.tv forum, but here with the nextpvr logs as a addon :-)
Hi there,
i switched from a "old school" LNB to a new Unicable LNB.
After some working around i got both tuners up and running in nextpvr.
Ok the first time i try to switch to a chanel it looks like it is not working,
even if the Nextpvr Status is showing LiveTVxy, after a switch to another chanel and back it works.
But my real problem is:
Via Kodi i'm now not any longer able to watch live tv. This is a big nono for the WAF.
So anybody a idea what i can do to get nextpvr going in Kodi again?
1. Version of Kodi: 17.1
2. Windows Version: 7 SP1 64bit
3. CPU/Architecture: AMD A10 Series A10-6700T CPU&GPU
4. RAM amount: 8GB
5. Detailed Instructions to reproduce the Problem: Try to start any chanel in Livetv mode or via the epg.
6. Details of all devices relevant to the problem: Digital Devices CineS2 V6.5 with a Dura-Sat UK 124 LNB
7. FULL Debug Log: Debug Log
Nextpvr Logs are also available down below.
Anybody an idea?
I'm not 100% shure if it is a Kodi or Nextpvr problem. The big difference is
the switch from old LNb to new Unicable/Jess LNB with the first tuning problem in Nextpvr.
After a switch up and down everything works as expected inside NextPvr. But starting Livetv inside Kodi -> Boom, ring of death
till Kodi says: Tuner not longer available (two times, for both tuners).
I think i have to switch back to the old LNB, to keep the WAF on a normal level :-)
Inside DD-TV (SW from Digital Devices to test your card :-) ) everything works as expected.
P.S.: How the CineS2 V6.5 is configured:

I am at a loss here... I am using Kodi 17.1 on a Odroid C2 platform with Ubuntu 16.04. When I go and add NextPVR using the Linux commands as per Kodi wiki... all seems to do as required, but when in Kodi, I never find the client. My backend NextPVR is up and running on a windows 10 box and I know it all works because my other Windows PC has Kodi on it and uses the backend just fine.
Can anybody give me any help on this or point me in the right direction... or?
As in the title, i can't update the EPG using the xml file provided by mc2xml. In the log file I see this error:
Unexpected error updating EPG: System.NullReferenceException: Riferimento a un oggetto non impostato su un'istanza di oggetto.in NShared.EPGManager.UpdateEPG(IEPGUpdateCallback callback)
Any idea what the problem is?
I believe sub is going to try to fix the Conflict Alternative Airings recording in the default folder instead of the assigned folder in the next release.
Is there a patch or configuration change that can be made before the next release to stop this behavior.
I've been going in manually resetting each pending recording by hand or having to archive them to the correct folder afterwards but I noticed I have a lot of pending conflicts that will record since the fall tv series is over/almost over.
No pressure, just wondering if there is a file that I can change to fix it.
I have posted my logs here for NextPVR and Kodi. I replicated the issue where Kodi freezes completely when I pause for a while, and then try to watch the show to catch up. From the investigation that I have gathered, the NextPVR recording service freezes up and Kodi just freezes all together because of the NextPVR plugin. Rebooting the NextPVR recording service seems to fix this issue temporarily, but then it leaves those timeshifted remnants in the buffer folder for NextPVR. I have to manually delete them or they will stay there forever.
I am using an HDHomerun Prime and am connected through LAN over a gigabit cable to a gigabit switch. TV works fine when played directly through NextPVR and I've never really had any issues timeshifting there. It only seems to be an issue when going through Kodi.
NextPVR version 3.7.7
Kodi version 17.1
NextPVR Kodi Plugin version 2.4.11
