Hello,
just like many others here I encountered GB-PVR when looking for an alternative to the WinTV-Software that comes with Hauppauge Nova-T USB2.
In the beginning I was very happy with GB-PVR because it helped me
getting very close to my goal: Viewing and recording, using only the remote control as input device.

Currently it is the best software I found, but I still found some drawbacks that prevent me frome getting really happy. I just want to list them here, maybe
somebody can help me on, it would be great.

1.) Muxers:
I tried the Cyberlink Version 5 Multiplexer and the built in Windows XP Muxer that produces the dvr-ms-Format. Only the Windows-XP-Muxer worked flawless, the one from Cyberlink worked well for some channels, but there was at least one channel where the recording contained gaps and skips. I had to got with the XP-Muxer because of that, thus unfortunately I am stuck to the proprietary dvr-ms-Format.

2.) Remote Control
Don't know if this is related to GB-PVR: Pressing OK on the remote control seems to send two signals instead of one: The selection jumps up one step and then the wrong item is selected, instead of just selecting the right item. I experienced that with GB-PVR and not with the original software, s I post it here, though I am not sure if it is software related.

3.) Programming Guide
Channel mapping seemed to work, but there is at least one channel that behaves strangely. If I select it, sometimes the right channel is shown, sometimes no channel at all, and sometimes a different channel that is not mapped to this item.

4.) Channel list
I added and remove a second capture source in the configuration tool.
But event after removing the capure source, the channel list in the
config tool still contains the items from the deleted source. How can I get
rid of them.

P.S. I use german digital terrestrial television

yep I had this issue but for me it is not really a problem. I don't really care what format the files as in as long as they work ok. I may change my mind when i discover what the limitations of this format are!

you should deselect the option to use hauppague remote in config, click "configure 45/xx button remote" and use the supplied ir.exe remote software
only. I suspect you have selected to use remote AND have ir.exe running from startup.

Do you mean that you have another tv device also connected?

I have this issue as well. Just select the ones that you want and ignore the others but make sure they have unique numbers assigned to them.

I only got my Nova-T usb2 working correctly (alongside pvr-250) a couple of days ago, so sorry that I don;t have all the answers.

Thank you for answering ...

The main problem could be that not all players or editors support this dvr-ms. But for me it is acceptable at the moment

Thank your for this. I will try that out.

I configured the same device twice: First with an XMLTV-File as programming
guid and second with the EPG that comes with the antenna signal. But I removed the first device afterwards ... anyway: I think I can handle this issue, thanks!

Now, only issue 3.) makes me sad .... I already removed all channel mappings and redid them, but the problem with one specific channel that cannot be selected from the programming guide remains ... anyway ... thanks for helping!
