I've just started messing with GB-PVR this weekend, and I'm limited to using Overlay Manager if I want smooth HDTV playback. While viewing Live TV, everything looks fine. However, if I record a show and play it back, HDTV shows will show zoomed in, such that only see the upper-left quarter of the video. I've tried every Video Decoder I have installed and it seems to only play back at the correct zoom if I use VMR9 or VMR7, but will not playback smoothly. Any suggestions?

BTW, this is an amazing bit of software. I wish Dvico would provide as nice a PVR a solution.

Update:
Live TV also has this zoomed in funny business if the Video Decoder is set to System Default.

It'll be your video decoder doing it. Try the zulu on that comes with the dvico software.

The Zulu video decoder does the same thing. I've tried all of the video decoders that I have installed which include:
InterVideo Video Decoder
NVIDIA Video Decoder
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder
Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder
Zulu HDTV Video Decoder(BDA)
Nero Video Decoder

Can you post your gbpvr.exe-native.log file?

Thanks for the quick response and support. I've amended my list of Video Decoders if it is helpful. The run below was using Zulu HDTV Video Decoder(BDA) using Overlay Manager.

Hm, that's interesting. The log seems to indicate I'm using the Elecard decoder even though the configuration is set to Zulu.

The logs show its using the elecard video decoder. I have seen this decoder do something like you describe. Try disabling it.

Disabling it seems to work. I'm now using the Nvidia decoder runs more smoothly with lower CPU utilization and with better deinterlacing.

When you say disable, is there a way to disable/configure decoders? I can't seem to find a standard way of messing with their configuration aside from the GBPVR configuration utility. I just uninstalled the Elecard decoder to "disable" it.

Thanks!
