Hi,

Would it be possible in a future edition to be able to set the priority of the mvp server to "above normal" just as has been done for the recording service

I normally use task manager to do this and it pretty much gets rid of all the odd mvp disconnections

but it is not always easy to ensure this has been done if I am not at home when the system is switched on

i wouldn't mind if it was a config option if other people do not want this little work around

I dont really agree with changing the priority. Its a bad idea. In general I think everything should be left on "normal".

That said, I've added a setting in config.xml in the next release to allow you to do this.

Sub, nobody can ever say that you have a "not invented here" attitude! Making changes to your baby that you don't agree with shows that you really will go the extra distance for all of us. Keep up the good work.

Thanks a lot, I couldn't have asked for anything more, I have to admit that I agree completely with you but then reality sets in when the wife is watching some show which cannot be missed and a daughter is MSNing [new verb !] to about 15 lovestruck boys at the same time, its then that you realise gbpvr just needs to have a higher priority !!!

thanks again

it would be fine to leave it in normal if the MVP wasn't so picky about how fast the PC responds :[
Anytime I do something on the PC, I run the risk of the MVP disconnecting and rebooting. Which I usually know as I'm in the basement, and hear a scream from the wife upstairs :/

As we Home Automaters say, 'Got to keep the WAF up' (Wife Acceptance Factor)
