When I select Videos from my menu I get a screen called Recordings. It lists my shows I have recorded on the left and on the right gives episode title. If I click on this, a new window pop's up. In this is the episode description, a picture of a television and 4 buttons on the bottom. Play, Archive, Delete and Cancel. I thought the poster or picture for the show was supposed to be pulled from the internet. I just have pictures of a tv. What am I doing wrong?

After searching more I've found toggling Ctrl + S brings up the posters. Unfortunately I don't have any. I also tried running getTVInfo. Don't see anything different....

I have 1 dvd mpeg movie in a directory named DVD's. After running getTVInfo I now see a "Law and Order" poster for the movie "Ice Age". Is it possible I have my path's set wrong or architecture wrong?

I've never had 100% success with this feature but then again, I never really did anything to configure it. It either worked or it didn't. I believe Jeff is the author on Video Archive. He would be better able to explain how this part works.

You need to configure GBPVR to store recording in sub directorries. The video archive plug-in will try to find a postyer for each sub directry name that exists under the recordings directory. It does this by monitoring the recordings directory and, when a new sub directory is created, trying to fetch an image from tv.com or imdb.com. To fetch images (or at least try to) for sub directorries that already exisit, use the the gettvinfo utility.

For DVD directories, the plug-in monitors for the creation of new video files and tryies to fetch a poster based on the file name. That is, recordings poster by subdirectory name; dvds = poster by file name. The getdvdinfo utility will try to fetch posters from amazon.com or imdb.com.

Jeff,

Can you give me an example of what your talking about? Under what tab in GBPVR config do I setup directories? I have the DVD side working but the TV recordings aren't getting posters. Under the Directories tab I see the spot where you put RECORDINGS DIRECTORY. I have C:\GB-Recordings

Off this directory are the tv shows I have recorded now. They were created when the show was recorded by the software. The actual Sub Directories are:

According to Jim
George Lopez
Two and a Half Men
The King of Queens
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Is there something I don't have checked?

That sounds right. If you have those sub directories, it should be trying to find images for them. The lookup code doesn;t always work. If you look in the jeff subdirectory in the InternetInfoFetcher-MVP.log or InternetInfoFetcher-PC.log file you see what it tried to do. I just tried the examples you gave an it only found images for "The King of Queens" and "Two and a half Men". You should have images for those.

Jeff,

I checked the sub directory off of GBPVR called JEFF. In it was the tvupdate log file. In it I saw it was pointing to the wrong directory. I found where it was and corrected it. Ran getTVINFO.exe and it found Two and a Half Men and King of Queens. So it looks like its working now. Thanks for a great plugin.

I've just made a small update that makes the show matching much better. For the shows you gave, it will now finds images for all of them. I will post this update as part of the next plug-in release, whch will probably not be for a few weeks yet.
