live tv slow startup > 8 seconds?

Did you try to select the right encoder or did you always leave it to default?
You could google for DSFmgr, it shows all directshowfilters and their merit.
You can change the merit with it as well.

Yes, have done specific selections, the delay to start live tv is always present (varies from 8- baout 20 secs) but doing this present (occasional but noticable) video or audio pausing (syncing) issues when it's running. Default selections appears to clear this up nicely, just the long pause. Will try that manager and see what it points to. Cheers.

Well I could really do some damagae with this tool. The DivX was set to top priority (after recent install of course) and the cyberlinks (of maaaany) were either default or basically disabled. Not sure which ones I should be attending to here, or if I have to reboot even to make the changes fully. (or what to do when I really stuff this up!!) lol.
