This is an error which occurs from trying to record tv through capture devices

Error: The method a was not found on the interface/type

GBPVR.Backend.Common.IrecordingService,GBPVRBackendCommon,Version=

1.0.1984.11199,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null.

This message appears when trying to open live tv.

Failed to communicate with recording service

It sounds like something has installed an older version of one of the GB-PVR files. Have you installed any plugins? If so, you could try deleting the contents of your "plugins" directory.

I installed more Skin plugins. After I installed the skins plugins I have problems. Also, could the .net upgrade and the gbpvr directories in the windows and program file folders have anything to do with the errors?

Its most likely related to a DLL contained in the plugins directory. You should try deleting the contents of your "plugins" directory.

I followed your instructions and the live tv portion still states " Failed to

communicate with recording service. When I tried a manual recording, gbpvr

stated,"Error: No connection could be made because the target machine

actively refused it." I have no idea on what is the culprit.

Did you restart the recording service (or reboot) after the original error? If not, I'd expect you would get the "Failed to communicate with recording service" error message.
