I am using the composite to svideo adaptor that came with the PVR-350, so it sounds like that could be my problem. I'll try something different soon and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks for the suggestions.

zaphod7501 Wrote:I have 3 capture sources set in GB-PVR. Two are S-Video for Hauppauge PVR250 and HVR1600 and a composite for the 1600. The audio needs to be connected to the PVR cards and not the motherboard or sound card or else you will get no audio on recordings and viewing will have a severe lipsync problem.

On a 350 I think you will have 2 inputs that can be set up as capture sources. The audio is shared between them as are some of the pins on the input jack. I would set up both capture sources and try both. You may have to set up several since GB-PVR shows more options than actually exist on the board (some newer board types have a header with additional input connections that GB-PVR has to account for).

Quoting Zaphod from last year, I am experiencing the audio problem he described with the 350 card, using my 1600 card. Briefly, my system is set up to record 2 separate S-video & Composite inputs, in addition to the tuner. I bought the breakout adapter from Hauppauge that does this. The audio switches between the inputs fine using the crappy WinTV software from Hauppauge, but when set up in GBPVR, the video inputs will switch, but the audio inputs do not. GBPVR only takes audio from the primary audio input.

Any ideas that can help me?

Thanks!

OK, I finally bought a HD TV. Glad I had some stuff recorded to watch!

Thanks to this thread I have successfully used GB-PVR (great product!) to capture analog video from my Sony Hi8 to my external hard drive. However, I’m now trying to import this video into Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 and it just looks terrible. I wouldn’t expect it to be so “lossy”.

Granted, Premiere won't run on my capture machine (SP2, amd athalon xp2800+, 2.06GHz, 2GB RAM, ATI Radeon x1650 Pro, hauppage 150) because it doesn't support SSE2 (whatever that means). So, I have to import video into Adobe via my laptop (SP2, amd Sempron 2800+, 1.6 GHz, 512MB Ram). The video looks great in Media Player on the laptop....but awful in Premiere.

If I try to import this video into Windows Movie Maker (WMM) I get an error message. Shouldn’t this MPEG video import into WMM without issues? Should I capture in GB-PVR as a different type of file for later editing?

Is there a setting in GB-PVR that will allow me to import this video into Adobe Premiere or WMM at the same quality as the capture? I just want the video to look as good as the digital capture I get from GB-PVR.

If not here, is there an outside forum somebody could direct me to in order to explain this much diminished video quality? Thanks in advance.
