Hi

If you are using iTunes & MyMusic2 then make sure the iTunes Music Library.xml is in the same directory as your albums. It should show up at the end.

Cheers

Hey Alan, what do you mean putting xml in the same directory as the albums... is there a clever way of integrating itunes with MyMusic? (I know, Reven hates all things mac... Smile)
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!

ydekmekji Hi, we seem to be on the same wavelengthSmile

There is no direct interface between iTunes & MyMusic 2 other than MM2 uses the same directory structure as iTunes. For Example: My iTunes are ripped to MyDocuments>MyMusic>iTunes (actually I rip via EAC but whatever).

iTunes creates an XML file for the whole library, so if that is in the same Dir structure that you tell My Music2 to use (as mine is) then all is well.

However MyMusic 3 uses a DB which once loaded works similar except that Reven has actually added 'Random Whole Library' as a feature. MM3 I think is better. Reven does not have an MVP, as I use, and because it is Remote Control based it can sometimes not be intuitive. For Example, it has 3 zones, which can be a pain switching between. To start I dont use the 3rd Zone (Page up/down) because I have buttons mapped for that. The main Zone I use is the centre zone which I have in Album Folder view and it can take 4 presses to get back to Zone 1 (the Menu). If there was a button mapped for Random that would be fantastic.

I dont actually use iTunes much except for cataloging because I think its good for that and syncing my wife's and my iPods.

Cheers

if you want i can add some "hotkeys" to jump quickly to the menu/features, eg
"0" = playlist
"1" = my playlists

i just released a simple and (well i think) good way, since there are 6 buttons on the menu (most of the time) if i make 1 = button 1, 2= button 2 etc this should be simple enough to remember and quick enough. tell me what you think.

the button presses is a trial and error thing, i plan to perform a neilsons 10 heuristic check on the plugins later, but at the moment still adding/removing features etc.

as for iTunes playlists, the .xml file can have multiple playlists inside of them, with a crap load of songs listed, my music 2 (and soon 3) reads this xml file (which is large and thus is rather slow) and then "emulates" a directory around this say if a itunes xml file has 3 playlists
1. Bobs
2. Sarahs
3. Saras
there will be 3 playlist items listed (and a "parent" item to exit from this itunes list), and then you can then play them directly.

to speed things up you can load a playlist and then save it as a .m3u file (way quicker than the itunes format).
