I already had a directory for music set. It was empty until this morning, when I copied a bunch of MP3 files there. I fired up gbpvr and selected music, but no files showed up. I went into config thinking something was wrong, but it was setup properly. I hit OK and the service restarted. Went back into gbpvr and the music files appeared. When does the MP3 file info get read in, when the service starts? What if you add files?

No, its got nothing todo with the recording service. The directory is read ever time you change directories or every time you activate the music library from the main menu. I just doubled checked now, and seems to be working correctly.

I'm not sure what you saw. If this was a network drive, sometimes windows doesn't see files on network drives instantly.

Works fine here now too.  Just glitched when I went from nothing to lots of mp3's including subdirectories.

Not a big problem in any event.

Oh, and its on the local hard drive.

sub,

Since the music module is hard-coded to look for "default.jpg" to use as a picture, is it feasable for it to do something like look for "*.jpg", and if not found, use "default.jpg"? All the album covers I've got are named for the album, and if I wanted to do something like for example: make a copy of all my covers and place them in the same directory, I couldn't (if all named default.jpg).  Does that make sense?

virtually,

I think it will also use "folder.jpg" so it can use Windows Media Player ripped folders.

Cheers,
Andy

Yes, Andys correct. Also, it'll show a picture for an individual song or video if it finds a file of the same name with (.jpg/.png etc).
