A couple of months ago I picked up a PII 500 Celeron system, 256 megs, built in video/sound & 80meg Hard drive for nothing. I formated the drive, put in my old PVR250 Tv Card and installed Subs GBPVR. The system works fantastic. - No dropped frames due to the hardware installed in the Tv card and all my playback is via my pinnacle showcenter hub. I'm going to buy a second larger capacity hard drive so I can get all my music albums added as well and just use this system as a stand alone entertainment system. the only thing that didn't surprise me was the fact my NOVA-T (9002) digital card didn't want to know. The overall performance was very sluggish as it requires a higher spec processor. Now I can use my main Pc for, well,,, I dont really know. Maybe reading these forum pages?
We use the Dell Optiplex 150's at work. Their quiet. Not a lot of expansion room inside though. Just the DVD drive & a HD. You might be able to fit a HD where the floppy is though.
Don't know what that will do to the thermal balance inside the case.
There is a PCI & AGP slot on the MB. Only one at a time can be used for a low profile video card & 2 PCI slots on a daughter board.
