Hi,

Has anyone got the configuration above to work correctly with a TV Guide? If I use the option to grab the DVB EPG broadcast it doesn't grab all the channels guides, specifically the BBC ones! Anyone else had this or found another way to do it?

Thanks

I use the xmltv radio times app from Alan Birtles http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv

it works very well

Thanks for that Smile Its kinda of working but still need to sort my channel mapping out to get it fully working. I get a bit confused when the same channel is listed more than once! Willl return to it tomorrow evening though as too tired now! This GBPVR is keeping me up way past my bedtime last 2 or 3 nights! Big Grin

As has been offered, use the xml option instead. I found with a Freecom stick that channels were missing and the amount of time that it takes to populate the electronic dvb just take too long. Apparently over a few days it will eventually fill in the gaps.

I have also seen quite a number of discrepancies with the broadcast EPG vs digiguide which is always right from my experience such that I'd rather an alternate source instead of the broadcast EPG.

Am I the only one who uses the DVB EPG successfully? Switch off the "Complete EPG Reload" option and it's fantastic and hassle-free - you get EPG data for all available TV channels, and of crucial importance to me, all DVB radio channels - something offered by no XMLTV guide (that I know of). Takes a while to pull it all in, but you can set it to run overnight. If you have far too many gaps, then just manually run it again. This method also takes away all the hassle of mapping channels to their EPGs.

One of the best features of GB-PVR IMHO.

I use the build in (bleb) guide but tweaked the file bleb-channels.xml to ensure that the channel names are EXACTLY the same as they appear in the channel config.

<channels>
<channel name="BBC ONE" enabled="true" filename="bbc1.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/bb/bbc1.jpg" />
<channel name="BBC TWO" enabled="true" filename="bbc2.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/bb/bbc2.jpg" />
<channel name="ITV1" enabled="true" filename="itv1.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/ii/itv1.jpg" />
<channel name="ITV2" enabled="true" filename="itv2.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/ii/itv2.jpg" />
<channel name="ITV3" enabled="true" filename="itv3.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/ii/itv2.jpg" />
<channel name="Channel 4" enabled="true" filename="ch4.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/cc/channel4.jpg" />
<channel name="Five" enabled="true" filename="five.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/ff/five.jpg" />
<channel name="BBC THREE" enabled="true" filename="bbc3.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/bb/bbc3.jpg" />
<channel name="BBC FOUR" enabled="true" filename="bbc4.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/bb/bbc4.jpg" />
<channel name="E4" enabled="true" filename="e4.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/ee/e4_uk.jpg" />
<channel name="UKTV History" enabled="true" filename="uk_history.xml" channelNumber="33" iconURL="http://www.satlogo.com/logo/tv/uu/uktv_history.jpg" />
</channels>

[edit]: The reason that I went down this route is that I had to ensure that both the analogue and dvb tuners had identical channel names (where applicable) and I then configured the bleb-channels.xml file accordingly. Therefore I only have one EPG update for both channels.

Yes importing xmltv file does seem to miss all the radio stations and some of the other channels. Reconfigured my channel setup this morning and tried another DVB EPG Update and got a lot more info this time so may use it after all!
