Audio distortion with Sapphire Theatrix 550

Hi everyone, just wondering if anybody has had issues with the Theatrix 550 Pro on GB-PVR?

I had this weird audio distortion when viewing live tv. I do not know how to put it but I have a 27mb live tv recording here http://s18.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2G9LZ...1LFS88VHWK hope you guys could give advise on how I should go about.

I have no problem when using Power Cinema 4, audio and video works fine. But all others PVRs just give me this weird audio.

My box specs are
Intel P4 2.26ghz
Gigabyte 8IEXP mainboard (Intel 845E chipset)
Hercules Prophet II VGA card (ATI Radeon 9800 PRO)
Sould Blaster Audigy 2 ZS soundcard

My tuner card is connected to the cable socket via a splitter as I'm sharing it with my cable modem.

I have the same problem too, with my Saphire thetrix and the gbpvr.

The problem does not exist with Cyberlink's Powercinema 4.

Anybody knows anything about it?

I dont have a solution, but what country are you in? ATI drivers seem to have caused audio problems for many european users.

ATI have a known issue where the ATI video driver (WDM component) overwrites the ATI-550 WDM driver and screws-up the 550 card. The fix is to reinstall the 550 driver.

Also download and install Chris Tweak:

Run GBPVR in windowed mode and with live-tv running, launch Chris Tweak which will show you the active running configuration of the 550 card. You can make adjustments on-the-fly. It would be a good idea to hit the default buttons on the two tabs to bring you back to the factory default settings (which gbpvr uses anyway). In particular make sure the capture volume is default (128). You can also manually configure the tuner filter which will override what gbpvr has told it to use (in case gbpvr is incorrectly configuring it). Anyway have a play and see if to can troubleshoot what part of the 550 configuration is gone wrong. Once we know what part of the 550 configuration is wrong (if anything), then we can diagnose how to fix it (there is a posibility that your problem is unrelated to the 550 card and instead is perhaps decoder or renderer related).

Graphedit is another more powerfull utility which can do the same as Chris Tweak for the 550 card but additionally you can use it to troubleshoot all the DirectShow filters in the path from the tuner, right through to the video and audio renders.
