I have installed the ExternalRecorder plugin but it is not showing up on the Plugin tab of the config app. I checked the log and it shows that the dll is being found in the gbpvvr\\plugins directory (why the double backslash?). But nothing shows up in config. Im new to gbpvr and this is the first plugin I have tried to install so it's not clear this problem is specific to ExternalRecorder. Any ideas?

this plugin isn't shown as a plugin but in your capture-source-settings. click edit, than select it in the recording source dropdown.

Hey thanks! Totally makes sense but a bit non-intuitive. It would be nice if this could be added to the ExternalRecorder install section in the wiki.

Easier than I thought, I now can invoke VLC with an URL in Live Preview mode by selecting a channel and it comes up just fine. How can you stop it? Changing channels doesn't seem to do anything and manually closing VLC makes gbpvr abend nastily.

Also, the instructions in the config dialog for the recording parameters refer to using the string {minutes} to control the length of the recording. I can't find anything in the VLC docs that mentions a parm to control recording duration (I did find a feature request for this in the VLC forum). From the instructions, it sounds like there is a way to do this.
