PIN and other wishlist for Video Archive

Hi, is there a lock/PIN for the Video Archive plug-in similar to XRecord's plug-in. Video Archive is what I taught my 6 yr old daughter to watch her videos as it is much easier for her, however, since my recordings are also seen, there are some recordings that I wish to have locked.

Also, would it also be possible to have a choice whether to initially open with the DVD selections instead of the recordings as it makes it a lot easier for my daughter to just click Videos then choose her favorite video without pressing the yellow button first to switch to DVD.

How would you envision PIN's working? Would it be per file, or per directory?

Well, it would be nice if there was an option to either lock a file or a directory, but if it is only one choice, locking per directory would be fine.

May I suggest another avenue?

Why not have the concept of 'User' or 'Group of Users'...
That way, it could become possible to specify that a show can be seen by everybody (so no need to identity which user to use), or a show could be seen by the Group 'Children' or 'Parents', once the person identify itself.
It could even be use to records 'Children' shows on disk 'z:' and 'Parents' shows on disk 'x:' so even if 'Children' fill their disk, 'Parents' shows can continue to be recorded (my children's shows repeat all week long and since there is not enough info in the guide to distinct episodes, it records every episodes anyway)...

I'm just afraid that GB-PVR may not have al the required functionalities to enable such plug-in. Maybe Sub need to be involved. :o

I had a similar idea. I've started to add users (but not groups of users). the only thing I plan to use them for is viewing and deleting permission.

Having user groups would be great, if this could be done. Might I also suggest that maybe a default user group be opened for each individual MVP (via MAC) and a global setting if no MAC is located/or recognized. This way my kids can open Video Archive on their MVP and be on their list of shows already without logging in. I can register my MVP or leave it unregistered to get global settings, so I can check in as well on the recordings of my kids.
