Custom IR blaster signals

I'm using a Hauppauge PVR-150 and a Directv box (using a serial cable and the directv.exe for changing channels). Is it possible to use the Hauppauge remote and have the IR blaster send some custom signals such as the volume/power for my pioneer amplifier? It seems like all i can find is every channel changer for every dish/cable box ever invented, but nothing for turning on a TV or amplifier. Am i missing something? Thanks in advance.
