first build, need some advice...

i decided to upgrade my desktop to make it an amazing gaming rig, and seeing as im going to have alot of spare parts, i thought it might be a good idea to build a dvr/pvr.. so heres what i have, and misc. questions, any help is greatly appreciated

questions:

with the leadtec pvr2000, there is a remote included, is it compatable with gbpvr or do i need to get somthing else?

what OS would you reccomend? xp? mce? 98 se? i have all at my disposal... (my friend works at microsoft, nice discounts)

A Duron 1.2ghz is probably at the low end of what will be bearable to use, you don't mention memory, 512Mb as a minimum but 1Gb would be better.

GB-PVR only runs on Win 2k and XP, and there have been quite a few posts by people with problems with that TV card, no idea about the remote.

When you get it all working that 40gb hard drive will fill up quickly
