just spent a week putting together an new pc (had some hardware problems) and now i'm doing my first gbpvr install. really excited but i ran into a problem.

when i press livetv, i get "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

the troubleshooting FAQ says i might not have a compatible mpeg2 decoder, but i've set the Playback to use nVidia decoder (PureVideo).

any hints to what i'm doing wrong?

You might get a hint from one (or several) of the log files you can find in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr

Did you follow the configuration guide from the wiki?
I'm not always right

i've also tried other decoders like Cyberlink (PowerDVD) and Intervideo. Same error message.

thanks ahead.

i looked at the log and problem seems to have been from the my conexant capture source (a pctv HD3000 card). i removed it from the config and now it seems to be using the PVR150 ok.

i seem to get video now... exciting stuff. thanks for pointing out the log file. i'm real new to gbpvr and still learning my way around in terms of debugging and tweaking.
