Sub, what is the minimum ATI or NVidia you recommed for HD playback?

1x40GB IDE HDD (OS & Programs), 1x160GB IDE HDD (Content)
Hauppauge PVR-150MCE PCI (NTSC), Driver rev 2.0.43.24054

Millennium Analog Cable TV/Internet
Plugins: Utils: ComSkip .79_98, Skin: Blue[/SIZE]

I tried an ATI, but I missed nVidia's color-boosting function (digital vibrance setting). I also found less range on the the bright/contrast. Both of these were my own experiences. It was fine otherwuise, and this was last year, too.

Yeah, sounds about right to me.

We dont have HDTV here, so its not something I've spent a lot of time testing. I'll take the word of those that are using HD on a day to day basis as to whether a particular card is up to it.

I have a passively cooled 9600pro and it works pretty well. The image is perhaps a little softer compared to live tv but there isn't a huge amount in it. cheap as chips 2nd hand nowerdays i suspect.

From my brief tests, the picture quality is virtually the same as my 9800pro which has more than enough power for vmr9.
