Hauppauge quadHD card no channels found (Debian 11)

The card came today and I got it fitted easily enough. Opening WebUI on local host npvr can see all 4 sets of DVB-C and DVB-T tuners but scanning for DVB-T channels isn't returning anything and at this point I'm a bit stuck for working out what to do next.

I know the card has some issues with Linux but I thought the fact all tuners are show was at least a positive start/. Reading The Hauppauge support site mentions downloading firmware but it's focussing on Ubuntu (I'll try that tomorrow).

Any suggestions?

My gut says your scan file for dvb-t is wrong since most Linux distros don't have useful UK scan files. Maybe download the appropriate UK scan file here https://git.linuxtv.org/dtv-scan-tables....474632c0da

Also typically you should scan just one, tuner 0 set it up with EPG test etc then open the other tuners to copy them.

If that doesn't work run dmesg to make sure you tuner has all the appropriate firmware loaded.

This was my first thought. Often the device will show up be non-functional until you add the firmware.

Yep, I'm thinking firmware. I've tried the auto-Default scan file and auto-With167kHzOffsets and nothing works.

I added the Happauge PPA and downloaded the firmware files for the card but obviously they're designed for Ubuntu and it didn't help.

I've attached dmesg output and it's definitely complaining about firmware failing to load.

Attachments must be zipped and under 2MB. Did you try to find the missing firmware? Here is the LE folder https://github.com/LibreELEC/dvb-firmwar...r/firmware maybe the fw file you need is there?

Using the correct uk- scan file makes more sense to me, I don;'t know anything about auto-Default may bet is it is bad.

DOH! Try again.

auto-Default contains every UHF broadcast frequency (8MHz apart) and steps through each.

Problem with using specific scan file - I just rigged my TV to my loft aerial and it successfully fount 6 MUXes using an auto scan but none of the frequencies it found match any of the specific scan files. The official Freeview site matches the Emley Moor transmitter to my postcode but the scan file in my distro is different as is the one from the linuxtv.org. I've got 2 other transmitters close to me (Idle and Keighley) but the scan files don't match the freqs I'm getting. Also the ukfreetv website doesn't match - I've no idea what the aerial is pointing at but it works and signals are strong.

I haven't tried finding the firmware as I've been doing about a dozen things the past couple of days. I'll look now and also make some bootable USB sticks for Ubuntu and LE.

Well you will need to install the firmware before scanning. For sure you need the one below and after loading it there may be more.

I expect the linuxtx,org scan files are better but if you have the patience you can scan however you'd like.

Yep, that's the error I spotted. I found it on the LE site but I'm not sure where to put it. There's also b40-1 needed.

It it /lib/firmware I suggest LE for those that don't want to research because I really don't like supporting Linux.
