I've had this problem before - it was related to how long you hold down the button - winlirc counts it as 2 button pushes. During the learning process there's a setting about margin of error or latency or something that will increase/decrease the time for each button press.

Actually, just tapping the remote resulted in double signals until I got things sorted out. Now, it works just as well as the remote from my HVR-1600 did. I can use the remote included with the HVR or my Harmony 880, and it works very very well. I set the Harmony up to emulate an HVR-1600 remote and used the following config:

Does anyone know of a replacement for IREx or an alternative download site? It appears that the one linked in the wiki (and this guide) is no longer active.
