pvr 150 ir blaster+IR receiver work on HDPVR?

My friend gave me an HDPVR but didn't have the IR transmitter. Can I use the IR blaster+IR blaster (one unit I think) from the PVR150 with HDPVR?

Update...got a reply from Hauppauge and they said that it didn't work...and they offered to send me a new one! Amazing service!
