Jerky recordings

Hi,
I am using v0.96.12 of GBPVR. Live TV,EPG and recording works great. But when I play back my recordings using GBPVR the video is jerky. Jerky being defined as plays for 1 second freezes for 5 seconds and then plays for 1 second.

The same recording when played using Windows Media Player works great.

Can someone help?

reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log file and I'll take a look.

You seem to be using two decoders that have been known to cause playback problems for users in the past. My first step would be to try replacing these with something else to see if these are the problem:

01:31:58.671 VERBOSE - DirectSound: SoundMAX Digital Audio
01:31:58.671 VERBOSE - Nero DVD Decoder
01:31:58.671 VERBOSE - AC3Filter
01:31:58.671 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
01:31:58.671 VERBOSE - F:\GB-PVR\Rec Shows\Zatch Bell\Zatch Bell_20060826_21302200.mpg

Any recommendation as to which ones I should use. Thanks for the quick responce.

Most people either use the Cyberlink or Intervideo decoders. The nvidia decoders are also fairly common.

How can I find out what decoder I'm using..... Sorry for the simple question but I havn't a clue where to look. Also, there may be others that need the same info as well.... thanks

You can check the gbpvr.exe-native.log, and look at the section of log I quoted above. It lists all the decoders and other directshow components that are being used.
