Sound stopped abruptly

I had everything working well with the PVR150. I decided to turn off the option in GBPVR from "Use short skip instead of FF/RW". When I did this, there was no sound when playing recordings. So I changed the option back to what it was, and still no sound. Then I just tried playing any sound outside of GBPVR, and I got nothing.

Did my soundcard fry? I don't know too much about this stuff, but I can't think of anything else besides this.

Do look around in your soundcard settings and check to see if you haven't, in some way, put it in mute...

I am seeing the same issue when "rewinding" but I am not using short skip option under misc. At first I thought it was something with my soundcard, but I am doubting this now that I disabled the onboard soundcard & drivers and installed a new-old Soundblaster card I had lying around and I now experiencing the same issue.

I check the Wave volume under control panel >> sound and the bar is set all the way down. Moving it back fixes the problem, but obviously I am looking for a solution where the volume stays put. I only need to control volume with my reciever so if there is some solution to lock the volume or fix this issue I would be glad to hear of it.
