"out of memory" error - photo library on 97.7

Right then,
Just installed 97.7, very pleased to see the photo viewer included as part of the core.....however, every time I try to view a picture on the MVP I get the "out of memory error". Works like a charm on the server...

Reven's MyPictures used to do the same, but he fixed it a little while back....any top tips...I'm sure it's nothing to do with physical memory...theres 2.5gig in the server!!

which patch is that?, the only ones I've seen are for the comskip problem and a DVD lock up problem...

Task manager barely registers anything when I select the picture.....cpu goes to around 14%, memory usage stays around 77000K, page file is steady..

Ignore the above comments - there is no patch that will help you with this.

Can you post your log? I suspect it is a corrupt image in your photo directory. I've seen this happen, and produces the same 'out of memory' error.

Yes, it does seem to be a corrupt image, but I cant tell you which file so you'll need to use a process of elimination work out which file it the culprit.

Time to work through it a folder at a time....still, theres only 12gig or so...

That'll teach you for having 12GB in the one directory. (admittedly, it could be the folder.jpg/folder.png from sub directories also)

Yeah I know.....

not as bad as the time I used X-lobby and had to remove the apostrophe's and # symbols from all the ID3 tags beacause they caused the music database to fall over......THAT was fun.....
