Troubleshooting if NMT is failing or another error?

I have had a recording or two lately that seems to play justfine on the PC, but bails out (freezes, black screen) on the NMT?

Latest of these examples should be in logs attached, mentalist episode, seemed to bail out at first ad cut, twice?

K, when I looked at your logs, I see it crashing right at this point

Without a lot of information I would have suspected that there might be a bad point in the file. You provide additional information from mpe grepair indicating lots of problems in the file from 453469160- 568925649 which basically confirm my suspicion that the file itself has problem. The NMT is a h/w player and it can only play through some but not all problems.

The other possibility is that the way your cable company is inserting the commercials is creating the problem. You might be able to avoid some problems, by never skipping, but that is easier said than done.

Regarding the comment that it plays "just fine" on a PC, my bet is bad files only play with some decoders, and I know for a fact that NextPVR users vary on their opinion of which one works best for their files. Unfortunately with a h/w player like the NMT (and also XBMC for that matter) you are pretty much one size fits all and it won't necessarily be a perfect fit.

Might be signal strength (other thread) causing bad files, need to work on that.

Just a follow-up. I believe the tuner was broken, after 5 years, alternating between 100% and 0% in reception quality. Its replacement works much better.
