Here you go. The files in this one are GBPVR.exe-native.log, GBPVR.exe-native-1.log, GBPVR.exe.log, and GBPVR.exe-1.log

Sorry to be so frustrating.

Yes, I have 3 MVPs and 2 capture cards. Before this version, I used to start up 4 MVP servers so that when one disconnected (which wasn't too often to complain about) there would be one there ready and waiting for the MVP to connect to it. With the new version, there seems to be some issue with how the MVPs connect and it is very difficult getting one, let alone more than one connect. Based on the other thread, this might have something to do with us using Windows 2003 and not XP as users who have XP aren't seeming to experience this issue.

The logging thing is that when 4 instances of GBPVR.exe start up under the recording service, only 1 of them successfully opens the GBPVR.exe.log file and is able to log to it. I can only assume that the other 3 are unable to open the file and therefore don't log anything to a file.

One suggestion I would have for you is make sure you aren't running any firewall applications. The new version utilizes .Net remoting and if the firewall isn't configured correctly, it will prevent your MVP from working. Quick check would be to turn off any firewalls that may be running, restart the recording service and restart your MVP.

ZaDDaZ, I had to disable my firewall (Sygate) completely just to get the native MVP software to function. I'm currently running without any firewall until I can figure out the MediaMVP issue. I'll set up Kerio or something else one I can get the units to play together nicely.

Sub. Were the logs that you needed correctly sent by me? I had to go to bed after I sent them (I needed at least 4 hours before going to work). Any ideas what I'm doing wrong to get the 'Application loadfing' lockup?

Let me go through the steps I take to get the MVP up and running, and maybe you can tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

I start by firing up the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server. I use the shortcut in the GB-PVR program group. The splash screen the shows up on my desktop (This process acts as a server.....). I minimize it to the taskbar and move on to firingup the MVP.

I'll power on the MVP and let it connect to my PC with the default hauppauge Media-MVP software. Once connected and I confirm the MVP can play back my recorded stuff, I shutdown the Media MVP Services through "C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\Hardware\stop.bat".

Once the services are stopped, the MVP returns to the 'Contacting Servers' screen briefly. Then it switches to 'Loading Application'. It gets through 16 bars of the connecting sequence and locks up copmpletely.

After locking up, the MVP waits for a couple minutes (locked) then reboots to the main screen. Once at the main sctreen it locks up at the third loading bar.

This is where I'll have to unplug the unit. I'll restart the hauppauge software with "C:\Program Files\Hauppauge MediaMVP\Hardware\start.bat", wait for three to five minutes, then plug the MVP back in.

It always fires back up to the default software from hauppauge without issue.
The Rev on the startup screen says 2.04. Is there a firmware patch for the unit or any diagnostics I can run on it. I know it uses a Linux shell of some kind.

I must be doing something wrong. So many people have it working without a problem on multiple units. I can't believe I have a bum install or a bad piece of equipment.

I'm a Computer network and PC repair tech. I've found that 90% of issues are PEBKAC (Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair).

Am I performing the procedure correctly? ARGGGGGHHH!!!!

PEACE

Same problem, rev D1 is working fine, rev H2's are not. Was fine on older version

EDIT: Found a dongle.bin from Hauppauge's beta downloads that gets the H2's I have working, but causes the D1 to hang when playing video. Others may have luck with other revisions...
