WinTVPVR350 with DirecTV trouble [World CUP]!!

Hello all. I just bought a WinTV-PVR350 and I can't get it to work with my satelitte...I don't get any signal at all !!

Here's what I have tried.

There's a dongle came with PVR350. I had composit connect to it, no signal on gbpvr.

Now I have S-video out of the Satelitte box into the card, nothing.

What do I need to get this work??! did I get the wrong card.

Make sure you have composite (if that is the connection you are using) selected as the source when defining your capture source...

Not sure why you have a dongle - the 350 will work with a satalite reciever

Did you try whether it works in wintv2000?

Did you install all drivers etc?

Hey guys, thanks for the reply. I've been trying to get it to work since last night.

Now I got it to work, though there's a trade off. I got no freaking audio!!

I noticed that the dongle thing was for OUTPUT, that's why I get no signal. So I had to use S-Video out from the card. And under "GB-PVR config"-> PlayBack -> "Hardware decoder devie" -> I had to select None.

If anyone has better idea, please let me know.

How is the audio getting from your sat box into your PC?

Ie. do you have the audio out of the sat box running into the PVR audio input socket?
I am not sure how the PVR250 works - but it will either be a 3,5mm headphone jack or 2 x RCAs for the audio input.

Regarding the satellite channel changing - do you use the sat box to tune everything? You need to teach the program the signals from your sat box remote. Do a search on the forum for "MCE blaster" and see what turns up - I think there is some patch or config you have to do to make it work - and I think you need another program (HIP) to learn / send the signals.

Interesting that you asked. I actually don't have anything connected to the back of the PRV350 card, although I saw an "audio in" jack. I know that might solve the problem, but doesn't S-video itself transmit audio signals??
