Hi Sub,

I really like the auto aspect ratio on LiveTV and recordings, however it doesn't seem to work on DVD playback (unless I missed something?)

I would appreciate if auto aspect ratio could be added to DVD playback.

Isn't that up to the software decoder? You should be able to select the Pan & Scan, Anamorphic Widescreen or Full Frame Letterbox in the video tab of the Purevideo properties program. I don't know if there's a way to control that programatically with GB-PVR; if there is, Sub would have to anticipate every MPEG decoder that anyone could want to use, and that seems like a lot to ask.

Well you are correct, video decoders usually have inbuilt aspect ratio correction which can be applied on LiveTV, recordings, and DVD. But quite often they don't work correctly, eg accounting for square or rectangular pixels.

My problem is my ATI9550 produces very jumpy video when using the video decoder aspect ratio correction @1280x720, but works perfectly with GBPVR auto aspect ratio (I guess it uses less video card resources?).

It would be appreciated if GBPVR auto aspect ratio could be added to DVD playback. This would also make this functionality uniform across all playback functions of GBPVR.
