I've been trying to configure the channels using the config tool.
When I do a scan for freeview channels they call come up with "Unknown" as the name.
This used to work fine, but its started doing this the last couple days when I reinstalled 97.9.
Card is HVR1300. Im in the UK

It's possibly just a transmitter issue.

Run ScanChannelsBDA_UK to confirm:

I had this.... turned out that the signal was poor. Moved the server back into the lft, and hardwired into my masthead amp using F connectors - all came up fine.

I also get this every now and then - try re-scanning at a different time of day (at least a few hours later; 10 minutes never seems to make much difference....) - I've found the info sent out by UK transmitters can be really flakey sometimes.
Also make sure all your aeriel cables are up to scratch - I got some real improvememt by ditching all the (usually white or black) freebie RF cables that get supplied with TV cards, VCRs etc. and making up my own from proper (usually brown) TV coax and metal plugs. It shouldn't cost much and this will also get rid of any joins and allow you to make the cables the minimum possible length.
