About recordings and other encoding tricks

I installed GBPVR yesterday. GREAT program. Much better then WinTV that came with my Hauppauge PVR150 (bought 3 days ago).

Please understand that I have zero knowledge of video encoding decoding etc. I don't even know what encoding does compare to decoding.

My question is, how do I setup gbpvr correctly and what are the codecs needed for recording / playback.


Can anyone either direct me to the right page on the wiki and / or explain to me what do I need in terms of codecs or players or what not.

What can't you do at the moment ?

Are you trying to record analog or digital tv ?

Analog Tv.
I changed a few settings and now all is good

(Except that the sound is low in gbpvr and lower in recordings, compared to winamp or wmp or powerdvd, but i can live with that).
