Running Plugins

Does anybody know if there is a way for a plugin to execute another plugin, like the tv guide or live tv.

I don't think so. Plug-ins can only call libraries that are in the main gbpvr directory. However, there is a method for invoking LiveTV. I don't recall what it is called.

There is an IPluginHelper.SwitchToVideoPlugin(IMenuTask videoPlugin), which you can presumably use to switch between video plugins (I expect it's what the OSD Menu uses to launch other video plugins). The difficult bit is to regain control when the other plugin is deactivated.

There's also an IPluginHelper.StartLiveTV(Channel channel) which, unsurprisingly, lets you watch live TV (and allows you to change channels if you're already watching TV).

I don't know what IPluginHelper.SetActiveTask(IMenuTask task) does, but it sounds like it could be what you're looking for to start regular (non-IVideo) plugins.

Finally, there are methods to play DVDs and both audio and video files and playlists.
