I've finally got my PVR150 working but the playback is choppy. I have a PIII 1.5 Ghz with 512MB Ram, not sure on the video card at this point. The cpu pegs out at 90% when viewing the video. Will a newer video card take some load off the processor or do I have to upgrade the CPU. This setup is only for playback to the monitor, it's not being sent to any other device.

The CPU should be OK.

What video decoder are you using? What video card?

nVidia Vanta LT with 16MB Ram.
Hardware decoder device set to none. Using software decoding.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the gbpvr.exe-native.log file and I'll take a look what decoder you're using.

With that nVidia Vanta, you'll have to use Overlay and not the VMR renderers. Also, in whatever video decoder you are using, ensure that DXVA / Hardware Acceleration is disabled (note: this is different from the hardware decoder option in GB-PVR Config).

I've changed to overlay and although the video playback is still choppy the cpu went down to 45%. I'm not sure where to check DXVA / Hardware Acceleration. If I choose video decoder settings for either of my two options I don't get a property window with settings that can be changed. My two options are InterVideo NonCSS and Sonic Cinemaster DS.
