I appologize if these questions have been asked before... I cannot see how I can search the forum and looked through about 10 pages of posts in the Support forum without seeing a similar problem...

I bought a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250 and installed it under Win XP Pro and to verify that I did have all the drivers installed properly I installed WinTV 2000 and was able to watch and pause live TV (using Overlay Mode). I closed WinTV 2000 and installed GB-PVR and ran the Config.exe file to set up the options according to the "GB-PVR Quick Start" link off the main page. When GB-PVR initially ran it popped up a window indicating that my system did not support VMR9, so I selected "Overlay Manager" and now when selecting Live TV I get a primarily a black screen with a few very thin horizontal white lines and no audio. I haven't had a chance to play with the configuration too much, but I thought someone may be able to point me in the right direction.

The computer is slightly old, it is a P3 800MHz (I think) running on an AOpen MX3S motherboard using the onboard audio and video, 128MB RAM, and the Hauppage WinTV-PVR-250 (with remote). My guess it that it is some sort of issues with the Intel 815E/815EG Integrated Video but I can't be sure...

Also, I could not seem to get the Hauppauge Remote to work with GB-PVR... It worked fine when I was using WinTV 2000, but in GB-PVR the only button that I could get to work was the maximize window button (The Hauppage IR/Remote drivers were installed). I was able to navigate the menus using the mouse though...

Thanx in advance for your help!!

Cheers,

Woody

The forum search button is in the very top right. Yes, it can be hard to see...

To work out what is going wrong with live tv, we need to determine if the 'recording' or the 'playback' is having problems. In you live tv directory, is there file named livetv-x-x.mpg? If you play this file back in some other player, does it show this 'lack screen with a few very thin horizontal white lines and no audio'?

If you've only just installed GB-PVR you may need to restart the Hauppauge IR software before it'll pick up the new settings required for GB-PVR. Click Start -> Programs -> Hauppauge WinTV -> Restart IR.
