I have had a problem crop up recently wherein I could not get ML2 to work via my MVP. The "Library View" would display fine, but when trying to queue (YELLOW button) an album or a track nothing would happen. I would press the GREEN button to view the Playlist and I would only see the words MISSING PLAYLIST.

I tried a number of things to try to get this working again, but ultimately today I actually uninstalled GBPVR v96.12 and did a fresh install of .NET Framework 2.0 and GBPVR v97.13 and then installed your new plugin (v3.11).

So, now the tracks successfully queue (i.e., I can see them in the playlist), but I can never get anything to actually play. Even highlighting an individual track and pressing the PLAY button on the remote has no effect.

I did some browsing and I saw where you had made a newer release available (Release.zip was the file download) so I tried this one as well. This fixed a problem wherein there was no display of "Artists" in the upper right panel upon being in Genre / Artist / Track mode, BUT still no luck on getting ANYTHING to play.

Any ideas? This problem is quite frustrating to say the least.

BTW .. everything works fine on the PC. These problems are only via the MVP.

I discovered that if I start the MVP Server via the shortcut in the Start Menu (GBPVR folder) rather than allowing the recording service to "autostart" it then this problem is resolved.

What tipped me off to this was that the Music Library that comes with GBPVR was having problems from the MVP. It was stating that it could not find the directory where my music is located. My music is NOT on the same computer as GBPVR, but rather it is on a network drive.

So, when I start the MVP Server via the shortcut it runs as the user I am logged into the system with (which is the same user that has admin rights on the box where the music is stored).

So, I configured the GBPVR recording service to Login as this user upon startup of the service. While the service starts fine, the problem comes back. So, for now I will have to use the MediaMVP Server shortcut and see if SUB might have a fix for this.

Does anyone else have any ideas? I really which much prefer to "autostart" the MVP Server and have the GBPVR recording service control it.

Did you use a mapped drive or a UNC path?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the gbpvr.exe.log and I'll take a look.

SUB ... Since you responded in both forums (here and the support forum), I have responded to you in the Support forum as the problem is really with how GBPVR MVP Server accesses files from a networked PC when started from the recording service. It is not a problem with the ML2 plugin.

Its been said a million times in the past - just use UNC paths.
